We had a reservation to pick up a car this morning at 10:30; we got there and the person working there was on his computer talking to someone so no greeting or eye contact so it felt a little unfriendly, but whatever; 10 minutes later he finally addressed us and looked up my reservation. Then he told us that there were no cars and we could come pack after 3, saying, "busy weekend". He could've cared less and told us "no worries" as we left (not to him, I guess). We headed to Avis in Shawnee and they were able to help us on the spot, with excellent customer service. We were in a time crunch, so very grateful to Avis. We will never use Hertz again.

In my experience, Hertz Shawnee offers a diverse selection of well-maintained and clean vehicles every time I need to rent a vehicle for a business trip. When they don’t have cars, they still make an effort to go get cars. I understand they are busy with Spring break and the summer fast approaching.Their customer service is excellent, with a courteous and accommodating staff that does not push for further insurance or services. The proximity to my residence was advantageous, and the procedure was efficient and straightforward. The service ensured my satisfaction with the chosen car and maintained communication with me throughout my trip to ensure everything was proceeding smoothly.

Horrible Customer Service! I wish I could give no stars. I booked a rental online. When I went to pick it up, they informed me that they had no cars available and the car I wanted to rent was rented to someone else. I asked to speak to a manager, and all of a sudden, they had a Nissan. Sir, I rented a Tesla—two different types of cars. When I asked for a discount for the inconvenience, he told me he would not "go back and forth" with me, and they would no longer rent to me. Sir, you and your company were in the wrong. The professional thing to do would have been to at least offer me another vehicle at a discounted rate and not tell me to leave because you don't know how to deal with customer complaints properly.

I can tell you after working with EJ and the crew at this Hertz for about two years - there is no one else I’d work with. Easy and fast. It’s easy for people to leave a negative review - but it takes insane customer service for someone to leave a positive review. This place is the best. Highly recommend.

Awful - do not rent from here. I went through my work travel agent to book. I was stuck at work and tried to call two times but no one would pick up the phone so because I was late they gave my car away and nothing left. The guy lied and said he was answering the phone all day. I would give a zero but then I cannot post

I had the best experience with this rental company. When I called other places they told me I had to wait for a couple of days. And I called this location and the guy told me that someone just returned the car and they were able to deliver the car to my house!I was so thankful that they were willing to help me right then!I really appreciate you guys!Ps. I also loved their Christmas decorations in the office!

Will never rent here again! Last time I was given a car that died during the trip. Today I received a call that there were no cars available to fill my reservation made earlier in the week. Their solution, "I can charge you more for something else". How about offering a discount to make up for your mistake instead? Just go somewhere else and save yourself the headache.

ABSOLUTELY do not rent with these people. I reserved and paid full price a week in advance up front for a car. When I get to this place for pick up they said there’s no cars available. They lied and said they gave me a call a day prior. And I had no calls from them. Then they tell me I can pay more to get a different car. Apparently the car I booked was already rented and the people extended their time with it. Why in the world would y’all let someone pre-pay for a car that’s not even available!!!!? It was a total inconvenience because I had something planned and I needed that car! Then they try to get more money out of me by adding different fees at the last minute. I will never in life book anything with these people again. Save your money! I wish I could give no stars!!!

Avoid - beware if you have a reservation that doesn’t mean you get a car. Made a reservation in the morning for a one way told when I got there there was no car available and I booked through corporate and they didn’t check with the local branch. How is that my problem? They said they called and left me a message I showed them my call log…nothing. They didn’t really seem to care. I don’t blame the workers as they seemed stressed and were running everywhere, and I was not the only one that day. They are putting up with a broken system and were all out of empathy. Ended up going way out of my way to the airport to get a car and all went smoothly from there but major inconvenience and disruption and lost half a day.

Customer service is horrible!!!!! The white make there isn't professional and he acts like a child. He never is positive and really needs customer service retraining. I spoke with his supervisor and he seems hesitant as what to do with him.

The manager at this Hertz location saved my entire weekend. I had a rental through another company that went horribly wrong and I thought I was not going to be able to leave town to attend my friend's funeral. The manager heard me and had a car that he could rent me. He went the extra mile to make sure that I was set up and able to leave town. Even with us walking in right before closing, he made it happen. So very very VERY thankful.

I had a reservation at noon. Tried to call to let them know I would be late because of work. They didn’t answer phone and couldn’t leave a message. I arrived at 4 and the guys at the counter was like, “uh, it’s 4” so we have your vehicle away. I rent from Hertz all the time for work….they didn’t give me a courtesy call or anything.He offered a more expensive option. I declined because he was NOT accommodating at all. Smug.The counter guys response was, “we deal with too many people to make a call.” Well….this location will not deal with me ever again. I got a car at Enterprise down the street without an issue, but it was just a frustrating inconvenience.

Absolute worst service. Picked up my rental shortly before closing. The car smell so badly of marijuana, I asked about getting a different car. Told me they did the best they could getting it out and nothing else available. Picked it up later and there were still 5 cars left on the lot after close.Went in to return the car 2 days later when I was back from my trip. I never used the car because my cloths smelled like marijuana from the short drive to my house. The young man at the counter was combative said I was lying put his hand up in face and the. Raised his his voice and kept interrupting and gaslighting me. Said he was providing me options , but the real solution would have been to not rent that car to me in the first place .Avoid at all cost!

Just came here today (8/22) after making a reservation in the phone. Associate on the phone never mentioned that the card used has to match the drivers license. The person using the card was present at the time with her valid ID, but still wasn’t accepted. This is understandable as every business has its policies, what is not was the fact that wasn’t mentioned to me and the lack of care from the associate helping me. Clearly he didn’t care less about the huge inconvenience and shrugged his shoulders at us. I ubered all the way from NKC as places all around that area are out of rental cars. A waste of time and waste of money. Please communicate roth people in the future !!
