I was really disappointed with my experience here. I came in as a walk-in needing help with a passport, and unfortunately, the gentleman I spoke with (passport agent or whatever you call them here) did not seem interested in assisting me. Instead of offering solutions, I was simply told I’d need to go to Chicago to get my passport.
After leaving frustrated, I went to the Stilwell (19800 Metcalf Ave) post office—and the difference was night and day. The staff there were friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to walk me through the process, answer my questions, and help me understand my options.
If you need help with a passport or just want a more positive customer service experience in regards to passports, I highly recommend going to the Stilwell post office instead.

I was supposed to receive a package from Amazon today and it was placed in the mailboxes behind Target. They put it in the large package mailbox and gave me a key that didn't fit or work in it! This is the second time this has happened in the last couple months. I have no clue what this key fits, but it's not our mailbox.

Had a great experience getting my passport! Staff was so kind and incredibly helpful! I wish I would've got the lady that helped me name, she was on top of it all!!

People that work here are nice but government offices suck. Make sure you have cash or a check if you're getting a passport, or you'll be out another 2 weeks for another appointment.

This is the poorest excuse for a post office. They definitely need new management. We moved 2 weeks ago,went through all of the steps to get everything forwarded and now they have no idea where our mail is!

I have used this PO since the beginning and always found it to be very good, except as of late. Rude staff, indifferent to your questions, lie about the status of your package that was dropped off and blame the main post office in KCMO for not for delivery delays. It’s a joke and if one did not know better, you’d think the staff was trying to sabotage this PO.

Everything I order that goes through this distribution center gets delivered late. My current delivery is over two weeks late. It sat at the facility for 13 days before being processed and has been “In Transit” for six days.

They no longer accept passport walk ups, though the USPS website says they do. Go to Edgerton! Yep, 30 minutes from Shawnee, but they clearly specialize in passports there and the agent I had yesterday 2/14/2025 was one of he best agents ever.

This USPS office used to be good staffed by helpful and kind workers, but now I dread when I have to go wait in a long line to be barked at by the staff. There's one staff member who makes me dread having to go there so I try other offices or go to UPS or brace myself for the worst. Hope they improve.

I have been there twice and the same man was behind the counter. Both times he was rude and condescending. The first time he yelled at me for a mistake on an address infornt of several other customers. The second time he yelled at f me because a package I wanted to pick up hadn't been sorted yet. Something I had no way of knowing. This poor customer service makes me never want to go back.

Very rude went to get passports done they said it ends at noon I was there before noon and they refused my services very rude to other customers as well, and talking behind their backs all because they couldn’t speak English that well

This is a terrible operation. They lose certified mail, and are completely indifferent to the situation. They will take your number and promise to call you back but never do. You can file a report on their website. A nice person will call you and say they will help. They won’t.
