I worked at this facility for about a year, and it is as bad as the reviews make it out to be. I recommend you call your representatives and tell them about not receiving proper mail delivery service at this post office, With any luck the manager will be replaced with somebody more competent.
Also this post office is NOT able to give postage for packages OR stamps.

I moved and turned I’m a forward address notice. I’m still getting tons of mail at my old house, long after the date I said to start forwarding. I called the other Stilwell post office, at 19800 Metcalf, and they said that my zip code comes out of this post office. By the way, the 19800 Metcalf has the BEST employees, they are always friendly and very helpful. I also asked the very helpful person if they were supposed to be forwarding junk mail, because the few items that were being forwarded were all junk. So, today I called this post office, as I moved out of town, so can’t just run down there. I called twice. It rang for 4 plus minutes and then went to busy signal. Everyone in this post office should be fired and replaced with people who were trained at the 19800 Metcalf location. No wonder the post office is losing money. The cost of forwarding junk mail alone, would put them in the red.

I got there 40 minutes before close and the doors were already locked, this is all because I wasn’t here for a package to be delivered which is fine if they ever let me reschedule the delivery which they never actually let happen. So I bring all the stuff I need just for me to be refused service.
This is second time I’ve had to go to this store and the first time it was open and the woman at the front was very unhelpful, she asked for where the package was from as proof I was Japan and you know what she says? “Actually it’s from Tokyo” that’s the same place just a city in Japan so I had to prove that tokyo was in Japan. I don’t know if they just hire anyone but can you at least get someone who knows geography?

I say we give our elected congressional leaders a one star as well. To have this many 1 star reviews is ridiculous!! A private company would be out of business. Vote your incumbent congress person out of office and put competent people that work for the people. Fire the rude employees and make them get real jobs!!!

I would give a 0 start rating if it was an option. They never pick up the phone.

Have not delivered mail this entire week and wont answer their phone. The other carrier in Overland Park is doing just fine with mail delivery. This location has very sensitive parts that i need for my job as an electrical engineer just sitting in transit. Appalling behavior. I have always favored the USPS for all postal services but will now be considering private options just so my packages dont have to go through this specific horrible location.
Edit: 1 Week later and my package is still stuck at this location.

This is a carrier center, not a typical store front post office. If you need to do a quick drop, it's great, but if you need to buy envelopes, discuss shipping, or anything else, expect a long wait and bad experience. Much better off going to the store front spot just five minutes drive away

Had a notice of a package being unable to be delivered. The reason on the notice was largely unclear due to the marks missing the checkboxes and handwriting being unclear. The typed portion of the notice gave me 4 options for resolving the issue.
Option 1) Call the USPS phone line to arrange redelivery. This didn't work because it was automated services only, neither the QR Code nor the barcode number on the notice worked, and the package had been marked in the system as in transit to another facility, making the package ineligible for automated assistance.
Option 2: Go onto the website and schedule redelivery. This didn't work because the system marked it as already scheduled for redelivery and needed a Confirmation Number from that scheduling to see the terms of the redelivery.
Option 3: Use the QR code or barcode to text the system for redelivery. As stated above, the package was never tied to the notice's codes.
Option 4: Visit the post office during the limited hours it was open (that was obviously overlapped by my own work schedule without actually lasting as long as my work schedule.)
So, I took time off from work to go there and find that the chicken scratch on the note indicated there was $7 postage left unpaid. I asked how that happened and the attendant blamed the sender for "mis-weighing" the package. I paid, but had to pay in cash because the USPS office apparently can't accept anything else. And, when I asked for a receipt, the only thing I got was handwritten with startling little detail, no tie to any computer system, and no copy kept by the USPS office. Who knows how the office keeps track of such payments, or if they even do. For all I know, such payments are considered tips by the operators and end up in their pockets.
And, in the end, it turned out the package had the reason for the extra postage written on it. The USPS office charged $7 postage to redirect the package from where I wanted it sent to my home address. (I have a mail redirect for normal mail, but it explicitly stated that packages wouldn't be affected and should have ended before that redirect was applied.) And, why was the charge so high? Because they didn't hand it off from the Gardner post office to the Stilwell post office. They didn't even route it through a local distribution center. They instead routed it through 4 different distribution centers, including one in Reno, NV and one in Sacramento, CA.
This kind of problem never happened with any other local post office. Only the Stillwell office.

I explained to the worker that my package was delivered to the wrong address by the admission of another post office and they sent me here to talk to a supervisor. The worker told me the item was delivered and decided not to help me at all. Would give zero stars if I could.

They love to say "Receptacle Full" instead of putting my package in one of the many available parcel lockers. They rarely leave a notice, and if they do, it's to the wrong location. Also, when they do decide to put my package in a locker, they don't give me the key.Going to the location itself is ridiculous. They can't seem to find anything and make the process so complicated.
