“Great piece of Topeka history! It's beautiful inside and I can't wait to see it fully restored. They do a wonderful job bringing in a variety of shows and serving great drinks and food.”
“My wife and I found 4 abandoned puppies. Never thought I would see that day in my life. It was a sad, terrible experience. But Helping Hands was there to turn things around for us. At least a little bit. Staff at the reception were very helpful and supportive. I felt good about leaving the puppies with them.”

“I was turned away. Person at the door said it their lunch time....
How do you think that made me feel.....
Instead of five stars....I give it one star”
“Thanks for testing me today. Cheyanne and Sarah made me feel comfortable and understood my anxiety and concerns with my conditions. The test was free but I’m going to send them an online donation. I’d encourage anyone to pay them a visit and get tested for what ever reason. The place smelled good. Incense perfumed the air. Very sensual. Thanks again!”
“I rescheduled a large item pick up for today, 10/4/23.Apologies for misspellings, but the man in charge, Marvil/Marvin (sorry!) and Victor? (I'm so bad with names) called me early, as another person had cancelled their first pick-up. They arrived quickly, were kind/hard working guys, and professionally loaded up donation items from my second-storey condo. This is my first time using this offered service, and I am impressed and grateful for the help! 11 out of 10 for the good people you've got working for the Giving Tree! Thanks again!”
“I first became acquainted with Capper Foundation in November 2015 shortly after moving to Topeka. Over the years, my affinity for its mission grew as I witnessed the life-changing impact of their mission from pediatric therapies to adult day and residential services. Their staff is incredible. As a donor, I am continually impressed by Capper's stewardship with at least 92% of their total budget going directly into programs and services. They have earned their 11th consecutive 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator and are a Gold level non-profit on GuideStar.”
“CRC is a wonderful resource for the neighborhood. I know if many of their services, & learn about new ones often. Staff are great, very helpful, non- judgemental.”
“This organization has upgraded it's staff and has a new Director who, along with their very caring staff is striving to provide essential services to people struggling with mental health issues and may also be homeless. This is not an easy task and with a limited budget is even more difficult. The staff presses on every day despite the physical, emotional and intellectual challenges they face every day in hopes of making our world a better place for their clients to live!”

“kind and compassionate care for my Grandma. I also received grief counseling years ago and the two ladies were wonderful. wouldn't recommend their grief counseling now. but they did a great job with my Grandma and the chaplain was terrific. my father also used to be a chaplain there.”

“I had a great experience here. I belong to a YMCA in another city and was happy to find out that the Topeka Y would honor my membership while visiting town. Nathan at the desk was super-helpful and friendly, both when I phoned and when I visited. There were plenty of options for machines and equipment and I had a great workout. The facility was clean and well kept. I look forward to visiting again.”
“My grandson lives with me and they seem to be doing ok. If you are leaving town for a couple of weeks and he is going to run out of meds towards the end before you get back you may not be able to get them refilled. So you may have to deal with a child going off his medication for a few days. I don’t know maybe if you ask they will fill a weeks worth to get you back. But not being able to go in a few days before is kind of a pain, because if something comes up or if your car breaks down and you can’t make it your child may miss his medication. But the staff does seem nice and caring. I haven’t had any problems with them.”
“I started taking my son to the YWCA officially in July of 2020. The teachers that my son has had have been amazing between working through normal 1-3 year old behavior, potty training, etc. Everyday I drop my son off at daycare, I know he is safe and cared for. If I have any concerns, I just bring them up to either his teacher or the Director Neveah and they will go over a game plan or give advice for that particular situation. Enrollment was easy and fast. The staff is knowledgeable and understands all kids have bad days. My son wasn’t speaking when he first started daycare due to personal issues, now he is talking in sentences, knows his numbers, alphabet, shapes, colors, etc. They give a lot of encouragement especially on a bad day. I would recommend this daycare to anyone and everyone. 1000 out of 10!!!!”
