Due to living where there isn't a Azura Credit Union, I have thought about closing my account before. BUT, things have gotten better with technology that I don't have to worry about anything anymore. Tellers are very helpful with helping to explain and walk you through setting up the banking app on your phone to do your banking without having to travel to make deposits, transfers, print statements and checking balances! The only thing I would really like to see would be one actual drive up teller window that has a actual person I can talk to. There are employees… and then there are the people who single-handedly keep customers from walking out the door. Jamey H. at the Arrowhead Branch is absolutely one of those people.
My family has been banking with Azura since it was called the Educational Employees Credit Union. My dad was one of the very first members (signified by his 3-digit account number!), and my own account number is only four digits — which should tell you just how long we’ve been loyal members.
I’ve seen many changes throughout the years involving staff, management, policies, logistics, the name change, and operations at Azura. With all of that history and experience, I can honestly say that Jamey H. represents the very best of what a credit union and financial institution should be.
There have been MULTIPLE times I was beyond frustrated and ready to close my accounts after various issues and headaches, and every single time, Jamey stepped in, fixed the situation, restored my confidence, and somehow “talked me off the ledge” with professionalism, patience, and an incredible attitude. (As she just did again today!)
What makes Jamey stand out is that she never treats you like “just another account number.” She genuinely cares, follows through, communicates, and takes ownership until things are actually resolved — which is becoming increasingly rare these days in banking and customer service in general.
Azura is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Jamey representing them. In my opinion, she embodies what customer service and leadership are supposed to look like. She has gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count, and she is honestly one of the primary reasons I’ve remained a loyal customer after all these years.
If Azura gives awards for outstanding service, dedication, customer retention, problem solving, and simply being an exceptional human being — Jamey deserves every one of them.
