Dean's 1/2 Price Books is a local institution in Topeka with a sizeable building filled floor to ceiling with books. It offers a great collection of a wide range of both fiction and nonfiction, from today's popular novels to classics, sci-fi, fantasy, cookbooks, and poetry. The stock also includes used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, and an adult section. It is an excellent place to find rare books, out-of-print titles, and classics at serious discounts and reasonable prices, though not for current best sellers. The owner is noted as being very nice.
