run! do not sign any contract with them... believe all negative reviews because they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to sign and leaving them is longer than a kansas divorce!!! it's been since august and i still haven't gotten this resolved! go with planet fitness if you can tolerate pizza day.

Not upfront about membership contract cost and cost of cancelling membership "contract"... Extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this gym and will not go back nor recommend it to anyone = consumer beware!!

Don't sign a contract unless if you like getting cheated out of your money. She didn't even offer me a copy of the termination form I signed.??

Horrible experience. They use your emergency contacts for cold calling prospects- buyer beware.

Watch out for the tennis lessons, especially if you're not a member. The instructor is great but Genesis policies are not. I was quoted a price for tennis lessons for my child, then a few lessons in they told me I had to not only pay for the lessons but also an additional guest fee for my child since he's not a member. That makes no sense. I'm paying Genesis for the lessons and the lessons are provided at Genesis. So how does the amount I'm paying not also accommodate my child as a guest? They only providing the lessons at their facility--the 'guest' part is implied! The right way to do this is to charge a flat fee, then give your members a discount, not charge a fee then tack more onto it because you want to pressure people into signing a membership contract.Needless to say, I'll be looking elsewhere for a tennis instructor.

We've been a member for 5 years. When we signed up we were mislead and given false information on the contract we signed. After speaking to the Regional Manager Jamie he was able to take care of us and get everything squared away. Very thankful for Jamie with his professional approach. Very easy to work with and communicate with. He is definitely the main reason we will continue to workout here and didnt cancel our membership! Thanks again!

Rhonda and Sarah were so helpful and kind. They were understanding and each one of them had their own unique ways to communicate. They were supportive and were a joy to talk with. I just can’t tell you how satisfied I am with my visit and your

Genesis is supposed to open at 4:30 am during the week. I showed up and waited in the parking lot until 5:00 am. Nobody showed up to open the doors at the posted opening time. I have to go to work at 6:00 am . I was unable to start my day off right due to the lack of diligence from paid employees.

Typical bad experience to cancel membership, like most gyms. Employees will have discussions with you in person that vary from the written contract language - not the best way to conduct business.

It's more than just a gym. There are a variety of classes, professional trainers available, indoor tennis, racketball, basketball, swimming, and all types of workout equipment. If you're just looking for equipment to work out on, this probably isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for more, it's worth the extra costs.

I've been looking for a new gym since I came into town, just moved here from Provo Utah for my job. I was in this club about three weeks ago and I would have to agree with the low ratings. I stopped in because from the street it looks like a really nice place. Inside seemed clean and it didn't seem to over crowed. The young lady at the front counter, was very professional and nice and asked me to wait for someone to assist me. I waited and no one seem to show up to help me, I had other engagements so I left after sitting for about ten minutes watching the older folks drink shakes. I asked a guy in the parking lot how he liked the gym and he said it was ok but overpriced and the staff is limited then he proceeded to tell me he was switching to another gym next month, cheaper prices, same equipment in the gym, no pool or tennis courts but he only used the place for the gym. His exact words were "Shop around bro all the hype isn't worth it if your only here for the weights". Ever since my brief visit I've been bombarded with emails, calls at the worst time to call anyone, that's lunch or dinner time! And they just don't seem to let up, I've redirected their emails to my spam folder, put their phone number on my block list, reviewed the website which is vague at best on pricing. And read some of the reviews which btw are awful and in one case hilarious. This gym sounds like it's full of bad used car salesmen hoping to take your money and not maximize your time for wellness. Needless to say I've found a nice gym that I was able to sign up with and not have my email and phone blow up at inopportune times.

Joined this Health Club in March worked out a few times and enjoyed it then I was called away for business. While away my emergency contact (EC) was contacted by the manager no less and considered a sales lead. The manager had taken her name off my profile and called her to come in under my recommendation for free trial work outs. My EC because my family is three hours north of Topeka happens to be my 68 yr old landlady who could contact my family if something happened. She's retired and one gin martini away from a nap about 8 hours of the day everyday. When I confronted the manager about the incident and told her how tacky it was I heard a thud as another employee got thrown under the bus, as she passed blame. Anyone play ball? (STRIKE ONE!! - lie) Needless to say I called my landlord who saves everything including the olive cocktail spears from those martini's and asked her to play the Genesis message to which I heard the managers voice. Then I called the manager who said oh I was just getting ready to call you back. (STEEEERIKE TWO!!-lie) I told her it was in fact her who called. She told me my EC must have gotten into her lead list by mistake. (STEEEERIKE THREE!! - lie and YOU'RE OUT!!) She did assure me though she would talk to the staff about this, so I was of course somewhat relieved. Because I wasn't a member that long, when I received a survey I felt it only fair to mark everything as neutral with the exception of the sales call to my EC so that was a four on staff. On the same call which was actually the purpose with the Genesis manager she tried to give me a guilt trip because I rated most of the survey questions as a 5 based on the 1-10 scale. I told her I hadn't been a member that long and it wouldn't be fair to give them all 10's when my attendance at McDonalds is higher than it is at Genesis currently. (You gonna finish those fries?) I find the facility to be nice, however there was no explanation on how to use any of the machines so I have to watch others and with all the mirrors I look like an intrusive overweight middle aged creeper begging for pepper spray in the parking lot. The staff seems stressed and I get the feeling it's because it's a high pressure sales environment. One day I went in and this poor kid at the front desk asked me if I knew of anyone else that I could bring in to work out because he needed to get more members in. I said no and don't call my emergency contact the manager already did, and it is 2 p.m. she's probably wasted by now. Things might improve if I ever get back in to work out, I tore my MCL stepping off the curb at KFC so once I recover I'll see how things go. It might be better for you this has just been my experience.

Here on travel for work and went in and spoke with Rhonda (General Manager) about a week pass. She gave me a tour of their very clean and very wide open gym and an idea of what all they had to offer.I came back to check in for my first workout and everyone at the front desk greeted me by first name like I had been a member there for years.Had great workouts throughout the entire week and very thankful for the hospitality and professionalism shown within SW Genesis from the moment I walked through the door.Highly recommended and if I were ever to move where a Genesis was located I would definitely become a member. Thank You Chris Spencer

Under new management and looks promising. Genesis corporate office was helpful after the fact. Not really worth the money unless you are a tennis player.
