Beware of purchasing gift cards at Icing or Claire’s. January 1, I went to get my ears pierced at Icing and everything was fine until it was time to pay. I attempted to use a gift card and their system was down. After 40 minutes of trying to figure out why it wouldn’t take the gift card, phone calls to the balance inquiry line, and assistance from a manager at Claire’s, we were able to use it. And thank goodness, we had the gift receipt for the amount on the gift card. Fast-forward to yesterday, and my sister took my niece to get her ears pierced. same situation. Only this time they requested that she pay with a different Method of payment. My sister insisted that they figure it out because why should she have to spend an additional hundred dollars because the System wasn’t working. They were awful to her, even saying “you aren’t walking out of here with free piercings”. She even offered the gift card for them to run at a later time and asked them to take the difference off her current balance. She also had the receipt for the gift card. In the beginning, they told her That was not an option. In the end, that is exactly what they had to do. If you know your system is spotty at best, maybe you should request payment prior to piercing ears. But stop treating customers as if the money they have already spent in your store isn’t legit and get a system that can keep up with your gift cards. We had all decided after sharing our stories that we won’t be shopping either of those stores again.

The lady who was helping me, Shelby was very very helpful and super nice! She helped me find prom accessories and showed me a few things that she thought would look nice with me. After I checked out and got my dress I came back to show her and she gave me so many compliments and made me feel like a princess! Overall she brightened my day and made me smile!

Employee picks and chooses who to talk to. Mom and daughter were welcomed in, and informed on product/sales, not a word to me, until after I mentioned how weird it was that they were talked to and I wasn't.
