They charged me an extra $20 because they said she was matted! We brush her every day so I know she wasn't matted. Never going back there since they over charged me!

Feb 14 2025 went into PetSmart to buy crickets and asked the older gentleman that was working if he didn’t mind bagging me some fresh crickets he go very rude cause he was cleaning tanks and was even more rude to me when all I wanted was 36 small and 24 large l. So I told him if it’s a problem don’t worry I can go to to Petco he told me to go ahead because if they got the same shipment they and that I should go ahead and go over there. Do one I never had a problem at either places that the only reason I wanted some fresh ones bagged because the ones that were there was over half dead at petsmart and that I live about 20 minutes outside of town .the older gentleman that I had to deal with I put everything back I was gonna buy back and I was done. And btw the crickets in the bag was the only thing that was dead the ones in the container was just fine and all I wanted was fresh ones . But other then the gentleman that was working in petcare all other employees were very nice and helpful ❤️

The store is decent and the staff is friendly. The parking lot is really dark at night and makes the store look closed.

Leslie is an outstanding employee, goes out of her way to help make customers and their pets happy. Give that girl a raise!! I also adopted my cat through Jefferson County Humane Society here, he's the best cat ever! Properly cares for the animals they sell and always making sure they help you out. Thanks Petsmart!!!

I really hate to come in this store but this is the only place I can find large crickets. They have about five people working in the store but only one person that can help with the crickets and the fish. I have been standing here waiting for over 15 minutes and there are other employees not doing anything that should be able to help!! I’m not understanding!

We took our elderly cat Gladys for a haircut and bath, to the Topeka Petsmart. Nicole was amazing with her! Our other groomer just sedates her to groom her, but Nicole did not sedate her, & we appreciated it. She said Gladys was very vocal telling Nicole exactly what she wanted LOL but Nicole just kept chatting back with her and before she knew it, she was all done! She didn't have any problems with her & when we returned to pick her up she was sitting comfortably on Nicole's lap resting and enjoying the extra snuggles. Thank you for a great experience Nicole!

I not big on pets but I think it has mostly everything you need and brand labels so it easy to find what your looking for. The biggest problem has to be the parking lot it just pot hole after pot hole

Please understand that my review is not of the whole store, but of the fish section and their employees. *Most, are fantastic, helpful, and if not knowledgeable, willing to learn. However… there is one employee, whom I do not know her name, but she works on Saturday afternoon, and this is my experience.
I went in to buy some White Cloud Mountain Minnows, of which they’d gotten in a pretty good size order of them, so I was excited. I mentioned that some of them definitely had bad backs, and before I could say anything, she snapped that I wouldn’t get a choice in which fish she pulled. I told her some of the fish in the tank were glowlight tetras, which I was told they were the minnows, even though they had orange luminescence instead of white, had clear fins and were definitely not minnows. When she pulled some out of the tank into their catch box, I mentioned I didn’t want the bent back sickly looking ones, so she snatched it out of my hands and dumped them all back without saying a word. I didn’t raise my voice, I wasn’t rude, I was just trying to get healthy fish. This didn’t include how she slams the net into the wall to catch, not looking to see if anything might’ve been caught in there, thus giving it a bent back or outright killing it. She has no regard for the lives she’s been put in charge of, and in 2024, that is appalling.

I enjoyed seeing everyone with their family pets even though I just needed to buy some crickets for my family's miniature Godzillas. 🤣 Definitely worth a stop.

The manager would rather stand near a register and continue a personal conversation for ten minutes rather that check out a customer if the other register clerk is busy. Disappointing as I'm sure he is making more money than the employee who is actually working. He was still having that conversation when I left the store.
