If I'm being made to go out of the way to pick up at a different location, the mileage allotment should be adjusted so that I don't incur overage charges. I had to make an 8 mile round trip, opposite direction of travel, to pick up the truck.

I reserved a truck online Thursday to be picked up Saturday. I received a confirmation email for the Uhaul location I chose. One minute before my time of pickup on Saturday (as I was arriving), I received an email telling me my truck was ready at a different location. I went inside to find out why, and waited in line for over 20 minutes to be told that they didn't have any trucks and somebody should have called me to tell me that. It took me an hour to get my truck. The gentleman at the second location did give me 10 extra miles because I now had to drive further, but 10 extra miles isn't worth wasting an hour of my time due to a complete lack of communication. Uhaul has been around long enough to have better systems in places. A company this large should run smoothly. You could have had an AI bot call or text me. All I can presume is that Uhaul only cares about money. I will not be using Uhaul again.

Renting a truck and dolly from here was easy enough and the employees seemed decent. However I rented a truck and went to Atchison taking highway 4 the whole way. There are no tolls on highway 4 and yet...16 days after I rented the truck they are attempting to charge my card for tolls the truck never went through with me. So, they will try to steal from you. I'd keep an eye on the charges to your card if you rent from here and I'm talking watch your cards for at least half a month AFTER your rental.

What a dump. First were given unit 106 which had an inoperable latch which was beyond a nightmare to close. Then the ridiculously unfriendly and unkind person tried to sell us a lock which was supposed to have been free and already in our unit. Which it clearly was not. We were constantly watched (to see our contents) affording us absolutely no privacy whatsoever. And today when we attempted to close out our account and return the access card, we encountered the same miserable person again. If we ever needed storage again, we would be better off using absolute strangers.

I can't speak highly enough about Garrett and his staff at the Topeka Uhaul location. I really do think he saved our lives.
After having our improperly loaded and installed trailer spin us onto the opposite side of the highway into oncoming rush hour traffic, we took our trailer to Garrett's location to have it evaluated for our safety (miraculously no one was hit or hurt). Not only did he inform us that whoever installed our trailer did it incorrectly (with too low of a bar), but he also said that even without it being loaded improperly, we were lucky to make it out with our lives since my car is only approved to tow the weight of the EMPTY trailer we were given. After giving us all the pertinent information (without upselling or pushing in anyway), we stayed the night in Topeka to reassess, and ended up unloading the trailer into a storage unit (free for a month) at his location until a winter storm passed so we could come back and load it into a box truck to move to our destination. In the midst of all of this, he gave us lists of reliable movers to help unload the trailer, and even sent us to a fantastic mechanic in town to evaluate the damage to my car. And at the end of it all, he took the entire cost of renting the trailer off of our bill to help make up for our trouble, and also said he would personally reach out to the location that installed it incorrectly (KC - Lenexa).
Garret and his entire team were incredibly professional, educated, efficient, informative and incredibly helpful without any upselling or pressuring. There wasn't anyone there that wasn't going above and beyond. I honestly can't recommend this location and its team highly enough.
