I've been waiting for a USPS Priority package that was due (4) days ago. According to multiple notifications, I was told it was at this USPS location. Finally after delay after delay, I went to this location where the tracking update said it was presently at. After going in I was told it wasn't there, that the shipping notices I got weren't the 'real' ones, and that the package was still at the USPS location in Kansas City (due to 'problems' at that facility). And that was that. Nothing they could do. No delivery time could they give me for delivery of the package my friend sent me at a cost of nearly $20. They said for me to "call my congressman". The package business of the USPS needs to be privatized. As well as sloppy work regarding packages, they leave our mailboxes open, and they don't pick up outgoing mail, so perhaps that part should be sold off as well. Pitiful! Never again will I use USPS to ship packages and will urge senders to use UPS or FedEx...or Pony Express (it would actually be faster). EDIT, 04/21/24: John Scott, Mgr at this USPS location who searched for the package and later receiving a call from 'Allison', both urged me to use the USPS search option which I did. The next morning I received an update showing the package in Reno. NV. It was redirected to me and I received it yesterday by my regular mail carrier, so the 'search' option does work! My friends and I are very happy I got the package. The USPS DID IT'S JOB, however over a week late. I think in cases like this the sender should receive at least a partial, if not all, refund on the price they paid for special shipping such as 'Priority Mail'. NOTE: While acknowledging their shortage of workers, to make the final experience better, they could have delivered the package earlier instead of having the regular carrier do it at the very end of the day, which of course would have cut short another day of worrying if it was really going to arrive–or not. Finally, doubt I'll use the USPS for special packages for special times like Christmas, Valentine's or Birthdays, but only when time or personal valued items aren't involved. Otherwise, they WILL try (and as in this case, FOUND) to find your package. Clearly they do have good, competent people at the USPS, but we all know USPS isn't what it used to be these days, but what is? The 'bad service' seems to have started with the new leadership appointed a few years ago. Whatever, something needs to be done to make the USPS the reliable service it used to be.

They cannot get my hold on mail correct ever. And there is never a place for patrons to park in the front parking lot. Evidently the staff gets to park in the front of the building! It's not right!!!

This place is the University of Stupidity! Two employees didn't know how to do money orders. They sent me to my bank. Their website says they will replace lost money orders but that's a lie. Office manager will not return calls.

It says temporarily closed here but it’s not. Also, they deliver packages late or lose them a lot.

We had great customer service with Tomeka from Topeka. We had a hard time finishing up two passports that the birth certificates were amended. When we went into Topeka to finish mailing the information in. Tomeka was so pleasant to deal with. She was so professional.

My mail man is always putting my packages and or key in the wrong box and when I contact the supervisor he is rude as heck. Gets snotty on the phone. Tells me oh people make mistakes. When you call the post office they will let the phone ring and ring. Mike needs fired or anger management ? . Possibly.medication

Jason helped my wife and I with our passports, last minute on a Friday evening. He certainly went above and beyond to help us and walked us through the process and expected wait times. Very friendly and very informative! And that says a lot when its that close to closing and you have a lobby full of customers waiting to be served. Good job to this location and a great job from Jason.
