Very kind. Very much on top of the game. We are still driving miss Daisy. Should have her home today.Noteworthy details: Understanding we picked up a truckers dog who was in a wreck.

I rented two rooms, one room was freshly painted and a great job I might add, the second room was just the opposite, it was horrible, filthy baseboards and a TV that was over 20 years old, roaches and I spoke to the maintenance man, he told me that the owner Judy fired a husband and wife team and did them wrong and the maintenance man Dave I believe his name is, he told me that he also got ripped off from this lady.I recommend paint all the rooms and update your microwaves they suck.Stay away from this lady, she's not honest.Rooms: I recommend that you hire those painters and get them back here to paint the rest of the rooms to stop being a crook I already talked to your maintenance man you're a crook and you dishonest go back to your country

Very quiet small quant hotel in Kansas- Owner Judy and husband work really hard to keep this little place going- It is really nice to be able to park right out in front of room- My gavorite thing was the shower- it was so hot and full of so much pressure! There is food within walking distance! Thank you Kansas Kountry Inn for a pleasant stay!

We stopped here on our last night of our vacation. The family that owned it was so sweet and kind. I asked for a soft bed and they accommodated quite nicely. This was our best night of sleep on our whole vacation!

Family owned, they let me check in way early after my car broke down, and gave me a free chilled water. Full of character and vintage charm, highly recommend for the adventurous traveler with hipster sensibilities. Located close to historic Wakeeney downtown, within walking distance of local restaurants, shops, and museum.Nearby activities: Trego county museum, historic downtown, bowling, restaurants

These folks put up with us for a few days while we were crossing the country, and it could not have been a more pleasant experience. The price is pretty much unbeatable, and the location showcases all that WaKeeney has to offer! My room had all the amenities a hotel should have, and had a very country feel to it!

I booked two nights at the KKI but ended up staying an extra night because it was quiet, comfortable, and homey. The hosts are kind and attentive and live on-site with their two little dogs. I was traveling alone and felt safe-no weird stuff happening out in the parking lot as I’ve experienced at other independent motels off the highway. The bed was comfy and the room, while not immaculate, was pretty clean and had a coffeemaker with coffee, sugar and creamer, a microwave, and a dorm fridge. The a/c worked great. All in all, a pleasant stay at a good price. I’ll be staying there again!Other Wakeeney tips:The Mexican restaurant in town is good but very busy so be prepared to wait. There are a few other restaurants and a Dairy Queen. Those, plus a bakery/cafe that looked really promising will have to wait til next trip.Things close early and on various days of the week so be forewarned. In a pinch, there are two convenience stores and they are expensive but usually open. The one by I-70 sells gas and souvenirs and both carry beer, soda, snack food, and camping basics. The Scenic Byway is worth the drive and passes by a huge reservoir lake, a few historic one-room schoolhouses, and through a big wind farm. Castle Rock Badlands are wonderful and isolated. The roads are fine until you get to the oil tanks, then you’d be wise to park and walk down to the “castle” rock formation and around the 3-4 mile loop from there unless you have a 4wd vehicle. Bring a lot of water. No gas or services. Verizon worked out there, not sure about other carriers-it’s remote. I saw two people the whole time I was there, and no cars at all driving for an hour and a half.
