456 Wineries in Wamego is a business incubator housing multiple individually licensed startup wineries under one roof. It offers a $5 wine tasting where visitors keep the glass. The tasting room features local wines from several wineries, made from Kansas grapes, including white, red, rose, and mead from sweet to dry. The site has vineyards for walking tours and lovely outdoor seating with views of the fields and sunset. It is an educational facility for student winemakers. They frequently host live concerts, especially on Fridays during nice weather, often with a food truck present. The environment is comfortable with no pressure to buy, perfect for hanging with friends. Visitors must be 21+ to taste and purchase.
A hidden gem! Please consider a trip out to 456 Wineries! It's an educational facility for student winemakers that also serves delicious local wines. CJ was pouring when I went, and was very sweet and knowledgable. I took a bottle of the Chambourcin and the Summation home, and cannot wait to share with my fiance :)
