I've been a member for three years and highly recommend Woodside. I've had a wonderful experience with a personal trainer, utilize the cardio and weights, attend yin yoga with Katie (she's amazing!), enjoy the pool with my family, and take advantage of some other meditation classes. I appreciate the commitment Woodside has to continuous improvement and their transparent communication. The only thing I could even ask to improve is parking.Additionally, I regularly see Elena at the spa. I've been seeing her for over a year now and she's helped me recover from some abdominal surgeries, including breaking up scar tissue, and helped me strengthen my core. She is an exceptional therapist. Not only does she provide an outstanding massage, but her commitment to customer service is truly remarkable. What sets her apart is her ability to teach and share knowledge about the body during the session, creating a holistic experience. Her warmth and personable nature make the entire massage not just relaxing but also educational. Highly recommend for those seeking a therapeutic and enlightening massage.

Wonderful gym for all ages, all types of workouts and three pools. I use the weight room, pool and treadmills. The choices of classes are extremely diverse.Jenney Ryan

I would say this gym is too corporate but corporations do a much better job of customer service these days. Three requests over my multiple year tenure for seemingly simple considerations were not even considered. The responses I received would have been more considerately written by a chatbot. My last request for a temporary suspension of account while I travel for a couple of months , which you still have to pay for by the way, was denied even more than 2 weeks in advance of the date. They really don't go out of there way to work with their members who have been supporting them for years with memberships + food + drink purchases etc. Good luck, if there was any competition for decent spa facilities in town, like there are in larger cities, there is no way this nonsense would stay in business.

I'm a long time member. Nice gym and pool. That being said, the club has always stuck me as suffering from rather mediocre management. This is a shame because the location suits us quite well. Also, be aware that there is a severe shortage of parking at popular times. The club has very definitely outgrown the number of parking spaces available.

If you have children and want to join this gym because they have daycare, just know that the daycare has been under construction for a year and still nobody seems to know when it will be open. They tell me every time I ask, which is once a week since September 2022, that it will be opened in a month, or that they have no idea. No updates, no information, nothing. Just expect to be OK with how unprofessional and out of touch they have been handling this situation considering it is the only reason I join the gym to begin with.

I’m all for updating facilities and understand how in doing so results in an increase in dues. My problem is not that the price has gone up or that I don’t appreciate the remodeling, it’s that the price has gone up for a gym where shower facilities in the women’s locker room are gross. There is rust and buildup on the drains and shower heads, the mats on the floor have gunk underneath them and it smells like a clogged drain. I’ve attached pictures I took today. I hope that some of the money that Woodside is receiving goes towards the Women’s Showers ASAP!

I love being a member at Woodside! The pool in the summer can't be beat. The club has great classes, new equipment, clean facilities, and all-around good vibes. The renovation has really taken the gym to the next level! I've been a member for 9 years and will be a member for years to come.

Woodside is amazing. The newly renovated facilities are super boujie. I end up spending all day there working, eating, exercising, and pool season is just kicking off. Katy, Tara and the whole team are so much fun! Group classes are great, equipment is great. Best health club I've ever been to.

Tara Zahner is the best! She was very helpful with getting my partner added and telling me about all the amazing things happening at the club. I am very excited for the new renovations. Also want to shout out my favorite instructor Reagan from rowing. She is always motivating and pushing us to be the best! She is a great instructor and very positive! Good vibes at Woodside

I joined Woodside in October 2022 and it looks like I will be leaving due to the 50% increase in member dues for current members on June 1. The monthly fee has jumped from $100 to $150/month for new and current members and the initial sign-on fee jumped from $350 to $450 for new members.I have been in contact with the Woodside membership and communication team and this decision from the owner, Blair Tanner, is apparently final. I hope that this decision will be reconsidered in light of the criticism being received.

Started going to woodside in February of this year, last time I had gone was March 2020 and I am obsessssed with their upgrades. They’ve created an amazing space at the South Club (group fitness and spin is almost done on top of polishing touches it sounds like) that is clean, sleek, and spacious and the entire club has so much to offer!! Also the Earth Bar smoothies are to die for. The membership price is completely worth it for me, I do not think it is expensive especially for what you’re getting. You can pay $150 for just group classes at other places that don’t have all the amenities and worse hours. Definitely the best option by far in KC!!

Construction delays and unannounced closures for the last 6 months have been a serious hinderance to my workouts and enjoyment of the gym. Had to get a Chiefs Fit membership in January bc they were so unreliable. Was originally told construction would be done by the new year and here we are with it still going. Zero concessions made from management despite being inconvenienced and half the gym being unusable. Also terrible communication and accountability. Only reason I stay is for the pool in the summer. Just do better

Absolutely the WORST billing system on the planet, and be careful they close the pool a ton of times in the summer without notice, generally due to maintenance issues or scheduling conflicts. While the food IS good (kudos to restaurant managment) :), the customer service treats you as if you're lucky to be here :(.

I am blown away by the amount of inconsistency I have seen in the last 3 days. I have been a member for a little over a year with absolutely zero issues until Saturday Jan 14th. I brought my partner in to sign up and the woman at the front desk had her fill out a form on the supplied PC. That was fine, but it took forever and we needed to upload a pic but there was no camera so there was this dance we had to do to get a picture from her email - like, really? So the signup process was literally like a 20 to 30 minute ordeal. Then when it was done, we received an email saying the sign up is complete and will be active in 1 to 2 days. The woman at the front desk said "Just show people that email and you should be set." which we did and it was fine. A little frustrating, but fine.We then come back the next day, and the woman at the front desk at the South looked confused about the email, and said we need to confirm with the people on the North side. It is becoming blatantly apparent that none of the people stationed at the front desks know the policy. So we go to the North side, they say we should be good, go back to the South side and explain they said we're good and we then go workout. More frustrating but fine. Then we come back this morning, Monday Jan 17th and walk into the South side gym only to be met with the all-too-familiar confusion from the front desk person who then requested my partner go to the North side and "Fill out a waiver" What? First we are hearing about that. So my partner goes to the North side while I begin my workout and I get a text from her "They won't let me workout." Furious I walk to the entrance to find her and she tells me the person at the North side said "We can't find you in the system so there is nothing we can do."For the amount of money they require for signup it is reasonable to expect at least some consistency. There is no process and if there is no one seems to know what that process is. I have loved this place and had no issues when signing up but this recent experience has been an absolute joke. If the policy is "You can't start here until the account has been processed" thats okay, just let us know that. If the email is enough, great - make sure everyone knows that policy so we don't have to waste time. If there is a waiver we need to sign - let us sign it. Every gym and athletic club I have been a part of has this process streamlined and easy to understand. For the way Woodside presents itself one would expect something similar - unfortunately, it is the polar opposite. Unclear policy and direction with a hefty price-tag. Very disappointed.
