I understand about having a store policy. However if there is one, it needs to be the same every time! I went the other day with a bookbag (I'm 40 so not for school ). With the help of a male employee I was able to get a lock and a helmet. On that day I told the items to register myself. Ok so fast forward to today.. I got help from a female employee. This time, I needed two more items and did not have my bookbag with me. Repeat, Did Not Have My Bookbag With Me! However the lady begins taking the items up to the front . This act alone doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the lack of consistency in their policy. Also another thing that got me upset is, I wanted to browse the candy which I did. I would have done that first if I had known about the store policy. So anyways, the lady that helped me with the locked items, just stood there by the candy and I said ' Okay you can go now!' Oh this lady does place the two items at the register. I went to pay for my candy and informed the cashier about my other toe items . There was a minor confusion about that but not a big deal. Also the cashier and my interaction was alright . I could have been nicer. However I wasn't thinking clearly.
So piece of advice, if an incident happens between you and a customer, when it is over, Do Not continue staring at the customer afterwards!
Oh not making fun of people with seizure disorders when I say this;
If this was caused by a seizure disorder, my apologies.

A great place to get specific nuts and bolts!
Plexiglass cutting took a VERY long time for cutting 3 pieces. She was friendly though. The tatted up white girl as the front cashier hardly grunted at me when she checked out my stuff. Amazing.

My father went into this ace hardware. He has been in the construction business in Wichita for 30 years. He is kind, respectful, treats people with integrity. He is Hispanic and has an accent though speaks English well. The male employee in the power tools department completely dismissed him. He literally walked away from him mid-sentence. He was rude and dismissive. This was the manager.
My white husband went in a few hours later. Same tool-- same issue. He was assisted well and even got help. It was a completely different experience.
I have called corporate to make them aware of how this Ace is allowing their store to run business. The irony is-- their helpline is outsource to a Latin-American country. The person who spoke to me had an accent as thick as my father's. He spoke to me with attention and respect.

I went in for one item. They had the item I needed. I went to check out and had to stand in line for almost ten minutes (one cashier open) while three cashiers stood at the paint counter with the (I’m assuming) manager. Eventually the manager looked over at us and told one of the cashiers to come assist us. Just a weird experience, save the trouble and go to Lowe’s.

Great service and products was going to shop local today needed MANY THINGS didn't want to go home after work so I stopped in to get the wood for 5 steps guttering and supplies for back of home, paint striper, paint, dewalt saw and a few other tools some weatherproofing for windows, some trim for windows, 5 boxes of screws need different sizes and some of the purple flowers at 24? Each was getting 4 of those,unfortunately I had to Pee No BATHROOM ITS BEING CLEANED. I LEFT came home Peed eating and going to the BIG BOX STORE GIVE SOME CORPORATION my money instead of a local owned business. Might not be going back even though I can walk to it from home. Have a great weekend.

My husband and I had a great experience at the Westlake location this morning. A youngman by the name of Zach took the time to not only help us but explain all the functions of the item we were looking to purchase. Top notch customer service! He spoke to EVERY customer that walked by. This location is not close to our home but we will most definitely be making this store our new go to! Thank you Zack for your kindness and patience.PS. We bought the EGO weedeater!
