Consumer beware!!This rating used to be 4 to 5 stars before BMO bought Bank of the West. I am a small business owner and loved the fact I was offered a point of sale system that had better fees than square and quickbooks and many other point of sales, I still like that. The issues I've had are since the buyout my checks I deposit have had an average hold time of 72 hours. This has effected my ability to procure materials and complete work. It has hurt my business and BMO says there is nothing they can do. I say they should follow federal reserve rules and release on schedule. A check under 5000 should be deposited within 48 hours and the first $225 should be available the next day. Remaining portions should be deposited per guidelines set forth by federal reserve. As of today 10/23/23 I am opening an account elsewhere and will close my accounts as soon as all deposits clear.

They have frozen our credit cards 3 times in the last 3 weeks. Forget the web site it's worthless. 3 hours on the phone yesterday and still have no guarantee it won't happen again..

I have banked with Bank of the West for about 20 years (They were Commercial Federal back then). This new company that bought out BotW is terrible. Bank of Montreal or BMO. I haven't had access to my account for the last six days. Over a holiday I couldn't online bank, check my balance (online or over the phone) and then when I was told I'd have access, the app was not user friendly and wouldn't acknowledge verified information to log me in. I thought it was dumb to do this over a holiday and then it occurred to me, of course Bank of Montreal doesn't care about American holidays. So that's what the BMO banking experience is going to be. I'm moving over to USAA.

They have recently switched to BMO. If you can switch banks do it because this is an absolute disaster.

Wish I had seen the other low reviews before I started banking with them. Never thought I would feel scammed by my own bank but here we are. Will be finding another financial institution asap rather than dealing with these scam artists again. They'll basically tell you its their policy to scam you and you signed up for it. Dishonest business practices. Please see other reviews for confirmation don't just take my word for it.

Will not answer there 24 hour service number and will not answer at the local open branches.I am locked out of my account without access due to their algorithm used to stop fraudulent Transactions. Thanks Wally Word for your messed up app that hit my account multiple times for a pickup order.Updated tried again 11 pm on the 24/7 customer service line and they did answer but would not talk. Line was a open mic with no one on the other end. If you are in real need of a bank avoid Bank of the West. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Horrible customer service. Only did business with them for my husband because he was too busy to run to the bank. I do not recommend them at all. It was more of a headache than anything else.

They recently closed west st branch . Customer Service there was excellent. This branch has horrible customer Service. Sat in branch for 30 min without being acknowledged. Here due to mistakes made by customer Service when opening an account for My Grandaughter. In fact so many mistakes were made We had to come back next day. Because She got locked out of the system SMH.

Been a customer for roughly 4 years now and every single time that I pull up through the drive thru it takes a minimum of 15 minutes to complete my transaction. It doesn't matter how many cars are in line, what day it is, or what time of day it is. I was under the impression that the drive thru banking was intended to be quick and convenient. Also, their customer service could use some attention. Very disappointed in this bank and will begin making a switch.

I have always been treated respectfully and professionally. I have banked with them since 1992 through all the name changes. I've had one incident with my checking account and it was taken care of immediately. Not bad for 26 years of service. Keep up the good work guys.
