We had reserved a motor scooter for delivery to the hotel the Friday before our Sunday evening check-in as the medical equipment company is closed weekends. Upon arrival, when I inquired about it, the desk clerk told us there was no scooter. Had he bothered to check, he would have found it in a storage room, as staff "discovered" on Monday morning upon my insistence. I had to transport my disabled spouse in a lobby SWIVEL DESK CHAIR from our car up to our room that first night. Once we finally obtained the scooter the next morning, there was another problem: Staff had left the scooter on all weekend so the battery was dead. It took about six hours to recharge and we had to make an 11th-hour trip late in the afternoon to the medical eqpt company to rent a manual wheelchair as backup for an event Monday evening. And there's more: The "accessible" bathroom we requested had no roll-in shower as is customary; it has a bathtub instead, which is impossible for a wheelchair user to access. Changing hotels was not an option as we would have lost hundreds of dollars, and it's particularly difficult for a disabled customer to make the change. The building is getting run-down and shabby, and throughout our three-day stay the staff was completely indifferent to our concerns. Whether you are disabled or not, AVOID this place.

Overall I enjoyed my stay in the area, if you are seeing a show or event at the Intrust Arena, this is VERY walk-able. The gentleman working the front desk when I checked in was amazingly friendly, engaging and helpful. In fact I never had a bad interaction with any of the staff. The hotel itself however is in a tipping point of disrepair in many areas. The folks that own it are new owners as I was told, so maybe they'll work to better the property. The room itself was fine, my bed was big and soft, definitely comfortable. The toilet clogged easily however and would run from time to time especially if you didn't flush it exactly right. The TV which I never actually used was a mid 2000's era Phillips LCD TV.The Continental breakfast was meh, as you'd expect really. I didn't get to try the family run Indian restaurant sadly. But man those spices are noticeable when they start cooking. I got in and took a nap before walking around the city and when I woke I got a nose full of spice, it wasn't bad just wow. If I stay here again I'll definitely hit up their restaurant.

The only good thing that this hotel has is its location but then again the hotel is surrounded by lots of homeless people.Room had a slight smell of cigarette smoke. They definitely tried to clean it but the smell was still there. So much for "non-smoking".TV was not working, two outlets did not work.Hotel was discriminatory towards certain dog breeds, they make it very clear on a sign but they don't say it on the website but still very wrong to discriminate against some breeds.Craziest thing that I've heard was during the check in when the customer in front of me sarcastically asked "do cars get broken into?"Receptionist said "well...not every time"Avoid this place, not worth the price unless you are fine with all that was said above.Rooms: Very cheap quality. Worst rooms I've ever been.Nearby activities: Better hotels nearby that are even closer to be venues such as Intrust ArenaSafety: Safety...here? Hell no!Walkability: I guess you can walk to QT across the street.Food & drinks: QT and Spangle Diner across the street.Noteworthy details: Why are you discriminating against certain breeds of dogs? Shame on you!

The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The hotel has a horrible pungent musty urine smell. The sheets had BLOOD stains on them. They REFUSED to change the sheets for the entire 4 days I was there. The 3rd day I noticed bed bugs. I brought all of this to the attention of the manager and I have yet to be contacted after a MONTH. They refuse to offer a discount or even so much as apologize for the disgusting filthy dirty vermin infested conditions. You are libel to get sick from staying here. There were people living in their vehicles in the parking lot and needles and trash and broken glass in the parking lot for the hotel. The KS board of health needs to close this place immediately. It is a danger to the public.

I would not recommend staying here. When I checked in I was in line, only one couple in front of me, and a man walked in as the couple was finished cut me in line without even a reservation, and the man at the counter didn’t say anything to me and then acted surprised when I said I was checking in and had a reservation. I also made my reservation in advance and payed when I got to the hotel. They already charged me fees and taxes but for some reason overcharged me an extra $10. The room was kinda gross. There was a large stain on my sheets and random gross platters on things like the nightstand, mirror, and air dryer. The TV Remote had some random brown substance on it. My body runs pretty hot so I like to have a cool room especially when I sleep and the AC was at 65 almost the whole time and I was still sweating, so it could not have been working properly. My friends stayed here as well and the staff treated them very poor, tho I can’t speak all on their behalf. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place. It may only be considered a three star hotel but that doesn’t mean it has to be dirty and not great service. I will not be recommending this place and probably asking people to not stay here.

Pretty bad experience here. Starting off I called once for 3 consecutive days to ask about early check in. We had a drive for 8 Hours and we were pretty exhausted. All three times the man said if I called ahead of time to let them know I was coming I would be given an available room. When we finally arrived we were told there were no rooms despite having called ahead. We were forced to wait in the car for 4 hours. The outside of the building is not safe by any means. There is vandalism, loiterers, and trash everywhere. I did not feel safe here. When we finally checked into the hotel we were told we needed I have the physical card despite having already paid for it on their website online. The card was only available through our app and we did not have it with us. We were forced to use a different card which completely messed up our financial plans. After an exhausting 4 hours we finally arrived to the room and it was a complete disappointment, there are no working lights in our room aside from opening the curtains. The room is completely smaller than what was shown on the picture and the restroom was dirty with what seemed to be a used towel on the floor. The television thankfully works but it is a small one not at all what was shown on the images on the website. In conclusion, it seems this place is ran by one or 2 people which explains why there is such bad management and low standards. I would not rely on their website and the pictures are NOTHING like the room. This building is not safe and I would recommend a different hotel.Rooms: Rooms are nothing like the pictures , dirty rooms and bathrooms. Elevators are are vandalized and look like they're from the 70's (very old, questionably safeSafety: Not safe at all, vandalism outside their building, trash all over, and people loitering around the building and cars

Was overcharged $200 and was told it would “go away”. After several phone calls it was finally refunded. No towels or tissues in the bathroom. Was told “you’re not the only guest here” never got any towels. The shower was clean but water was warm at best. Bed had hair on it from previous stay. The breakfast was disgusting! Sausage was dry and old and the same with the eggs. They had cereal but no milk and refused to offer any to other guest. Definitely don’t recommend staying here! Save your money and headache!

Some hotels I return to, others I don't. I won't be coming back to this one.Reasons: Close to a busy, loud street. Room was clearly not vacuumed, so who knows what else wasn't cleaned. Dirtiest breakfast area I've ever seen. Thin walls. Old smell. Other reviewers commented about safety outside the hotel -- nothing happened to my car, but be aware.I give two stars vs one because the front desk employees were quick and kind, and the location isn't far from things in downtown Wichita.Basically, it's an old hotel in a possible sketchy part of town. I personally dislike those things.

If I could leave a 0 I would. They put a $100 fee on top of the price of the hotel when we checked in which is no problem. the next morning they put another hold for another $100 on our card and said they do that for every night that is reserved. I called the hotel and they were NO help whatsoever. they said it would fall off in 3-5 business days but they've tied up all of our money while out of town. On top of that, the so called "breakfast" they provide, there were no utensils to get the eggs or bacon. you had to go get a plastic spoon or fork to get the food. they are updated which is nice but the service is nothing special

Yup. This place is trash. Upon reading the newer review it's amazing to see that nothing has changed in 5 months since I stayed there. Wow. Just wow.

UPDATE: we just found out the front desk charged my husband's card an additional $10.78 for "parking." We booked on Priceline and amenities included "free parking."I called and pointed this out to the front desk, and she argued with me until I demanded it be removed immediately. She said she wasn't authorized to remove it without the manager's approval and he was away. Then I called Priceline, who called the property with me on the line. Only then was I assured a refund.Book anywhere else, but don't make the same mistake we did.

Words can not express how grossly kept & managed this Wyndham is...definitely does NOT deserve to carry the brand name. From the inattentive/rude staff (get off your cell phone when a customer is in front of you), the lack of cleanliness, the extremely poor room & common area conditions, the unsafe exterior areas, to the curdled milk & mealy non-eggs set out at breakfast, this place is close to needing to be condemned! I booked a 'Family Suite', which was just two connecting rooms with one entry door; a Suite has a living space and most certainly would have TVs that work, showers that work and no black mold all over! The level of disgust and nastiness was beyond unacceptable!

I was in town for a conference. I was booked for a three night stay. My room never had a box of Kleenex in it and the air conditioning only worked if it was cool outside. The whole building had a moldy and sewage smell. This small has caused me to have a sinus infection. There was not good internet service or lobby assistance. On the last night I was scheduled to stay I came back from my meeting only to discover that housekeeping had been told I had abandoned my stuff, so they packed it all up and gave my room to a different person. It took me 35 minutes in the lobby to finally have someone find my bags for me. I discovered the attached pictures on the last morning of my stay, I was up early because I could not stand the smell in my room.

Very bad experience with the Wyndham Hotel Downtown Wichita. Poorly cleaned rooms, insufficient towels for occupancy; breakfast was definitely not as advertised; lighting room switch not functioning; moldy smell in room and hallways; and personnel seemed less concerned. I would not recommend this property and am re-evaluating my membership in the Wyndham program.
