About Westcare Kentucky
WestCare Kentucky’s Men’s Residential Program at the Hal Rogers Appalachian Recovery Center offers intensive substance use treatment for adult men in a male‑only setting. The long‑term program includes a minimum 90‑day stay and is licensed for DUI assessment, education, and treatment. Using a modified therapeutic community model, services include individual counseling, group counseling, relapse prevention, vocational development, alcohol and drug education, family support, parenting classes, HIV education, chapel services, and 12‑Step meetings. The program empowers men to build accountability and a strong foundation for lifelong recovery. Reviewers praise the facility’s food and the staff. The staff is professional and human, and men and women there feel like human beings. The staff helps with the re‑entry process and cares. Reviewers say the program is great for those who are truly ready to change. People who quit and leave are not ready. The staff and people there are good, and some had a good time. The program helped many, but troubles at home sometimes end the stay.

It wasn't a bad experience it is what you make of it I met a heck of a bunch of good people there and actually had a good time and would have stayed had it not been for troubles at home

Beautiful Facility - Enjoyed my visit with Management… Like most treatment facilities, a tremendous amount of opportunities and resources are provided by professional staff. Unfortunately Not everyone is ready for the available life transformation.

I spent 107 days there and learned how to look at myself in a sobering way cause I was clean for 3 months. The way they explained it and showed me how to look at my problems in the way that they where instead looking at them and trying to justify them. It was a nice place, they showed they cared about us.
