“Had a screw puncture in one of my tires. Plenty of tread life left on the tire. I took it to the place I bought the full set of tires from originally for a “quick patch” where the screw had punctured and they said “we can’t patch this, you need new tires”. I just bought these 4 brand new tires for $1200 three years and 30,000 miles ago from this place. I declined. Then I took the tire to the Chevy dealer for a patch, they said they wouldn’t patch a screw hole and I should just buy new tires from them and have me a quote. I declined. Again, all 4 of my tires are rated for 75,000 miles and were less than 3 years old with 30,000 miles on them total. Took my tire to Discount Tire today, they looked at my tire, said it was easily fixable, and then patched the screw hole and handed me back my tire in less than 45 minutes without any hassle. BALANCED. FOR FREE. I know where I am going next time to buy tires now, where I can trust an honest opinion. The sales guys also did what they needed to do as well to give me options as to what tire choices I have for my next set, but more importantly they were honest in saying the tires I have now (and the one I got patched) were not ready for total replacement, unlike the other 2 opinions I received, which I knew at the time were BS and not honest. Honesty goes a LONG way. We should all appreciate that.”
