Good place to adopt. Right now, the adoption fees are waved. They also send you home with a goody bag worth an estimated $80-$100. They also board pets for $10 a day.

Found out you can not just surrender an animal to a shelter. You have to make an appointment. They were very helpful and guided me through the process. Really appreciate their help.

My sweet and loving dog slipped out my door in 2021 and boone county animal control Picked him up and refused to return him home even though I paid all the fees. They told me they were going to euthanize him even though he was the complete opposite of a viscous dog and Boone county claims to be a no kill shelter. well that’s not what one of the officers told me. she told me that my dog had already been euthanized and refused to give any more information than that. If I wasn’t low income I would sue but they took advantage of the fact that I couldn’t afford a good lawyer and so they lied to me about killing my dog and let one of the people that work there take him home!

Found the sweetest companion there. She a good little Beagle. She definitely has/had some issues but she is a work in progress, and so far she's doing great. She seems to understand that she's safe and at home forever. Best $60.00 I ever spent.

Last summer we dropped by here to see about bringing home a friend for the black cat we have had for almost a decade. I admit I wasn't looking for a kitten, but my spouse fell in love with Lila when he met her so we picked her. Gray blanket photo is from the week she was first home. Second photo is a recent one of her and our black cat.Lila is worth dozens of stars on her own, but I was also happy with how friendly the staff were here and the precautions they were taking for social distancing. Was also very clear the animals here are all well cared for and they made the adoption process very simple. Was a positive experience and continues to be with this one around. :)

In 2020 me and my girlfriend (who was about 7 months pregnant at the time) tried to take a dog there we had found in the street. Upon arrival the staff locked the doors and refused to let us in claiming we didn’t find the dog in the right county despite them having no knowledge of that. Frustrated I attempt to put the dog back in the car and they had broken free and run away and I took pursuit to the dog. The staff THEN decided to come out and claim we were deserting the dog even though I was currently chasing it. They then proceeded to harass my pregnant girlfriend and 2 year old daughter, standing behind our car preventing her from coming to help and taking pictures of our license plate, all the while they were mocking and taunting my 2 year old daughter over crying in the car. I was eventually able to calm the dog and was able to take it to Kenton county where their staff was actually professional and helpful. In short the staff at this shelter are terrible, disrespectful, power tripping, disgusting humans and i hope they experience the same treatment they give others 0/10 would not recommend.

The nicest handlers and they act like they truly care about their animals. I adopted a silly little cat and my friend got a puppy. They are in good health and full of love. The shelter gave them plenty of goodies.

The staff is very nice and they treat the animals with dignity and respect. Also you can actually breathe in the facility because you can tell the staff is superb when it comes to cleanliness.

They staff is rude and unhelpful. The treat anyone who comes in like they are second class citizen. Try to remember ladies my taxes pay your salary and you can replaced by a computer.Or maybe you if you are so unhappy you should be the actual dog catcher.
