Visited this place in 2010. Happy to see it’s still operating!! We still talk about it 14 years later! Super fun and interesting place to visit on a road trip! Could look for hours the place just kept going! Would love to visit again one day.

What a cool little antique/ souvenir shop! Our family loves to explore these little mom and pop shops! This one had a variety of new and old antique items. Various souvenirs! Things were a little pricey, but in today's market you kind of need to be! Very cool location!

This place had the perfect feel if you're looking for old stuff! Very welcoming lady at the register and answered any questions I had. There was so much going on in there that I could spend hours sifting through everything! I purchased a few things and left very satisfied being able to have the opportunity to find a place like that!

Slightly disappointed, truly a travel back in time but it's more of a antique shop then general store, filled with rusting over priced knick knacks. Maybe a gem in there some where, but not a general store by any stretch.

This is an interesting place to stop and look around. They have a mixture of antiques, new items, and snack options for purchase. Some of the prices seemed to be marked high in comparison to other antique stores, but still neat to check out.

Cute little shop in the boundaries of Cave City. The shop is full of antiquish items like and old urn coffee machine. The coolest thing is it is all for sale. They also have pots and pans hanging from the ceiling. Definitely a shop to stop and visit. In Mammoth Cave.

We stopped this afternoon to shop, first time for me. This store had recently reopened after being closed for a time. This place is packed with antique tools, collectibles, baskets, bottles, crocks, Daisy churns, local made gifts, tobacco related items, Kentucky made fudge, Minnetonka moccasins, wood carvings, knives, Kentucky made jelly and honey, whole country ham, collectible mineral rocks, old saddles, and many more unique items. This is not wheelchair friendly but most will love the old look and tight spaces. This is definitely worth a visit when visiting the cave area. It is very close to I-65. There is a great country restaurant next door.

This is mainly a collection of estate items. Lots of glass bottles. Some tools. Things are overpriced in general. Powerful tobacco odor would be offensive to some.

I wanted my daughter, Ashley, to experience a few of the roadside attractions, that I had visited in my younger days. And The Olde General Store was one of them, on my list. She and I had a memorable time chatting and exploring the store. I had a really pleasant conversation with the young man that was overseeing things on the day of our visit... 6/29/19. I am sorry to say, I did not get his name. He told me some of the histories of the store as he pointed to a large poster size picture of Mr. Johnny Cash, shaking hands with the store's original owner, Mr. Leroy Alvey. As to this day Mr. Alvey now in his Eighties, still owns the store; along with his wife, Naomi. I took photos and a short video, that I am posting on my Facebook page, in hopes to encourage others to get-out and revisit their past and make new memories.

I was super excited to check this place out. The outside makes it appealing, however I couldn't even check everything out because of the cigar stench. The guy at the counter seemed pretty nice, but I wouldn't want to own anything that smells of cigar stench. Came out coughing from the smoke inside.

Amazing old general store we found tonight while on vacation! Completely loaded with some of the most wonderful old antiques I've ever seen. A definite MUST stop if you're in the area. Tons of one-of-a-kind items. Plus chatting with Doug the store clerk made our visit even more special, he's such a great, knowledgeable man. We will be back next time we're in town!
