About Onyx Cave and Rock Shop
Onyx Cave and Rock Shop is located in Cave City, Kentucky. The cave tour is offered every thirty minutes throughout the day and lasts 30-35 minutes. The cave is well lit and features beautiful cave coral, sparkling calcite crystals, glistening flowstone, and a towering column. The tour is brief, well-lit, and less strenuous, though it involves stairs and some tight squeezes and low ceilings. Guides are knowledgeable, patient, and have a clear passion for the cave, its history, and geology. The Rock Shop offers a great selection of rocks, minerals, fossils, and jewelry, as well as chess sets, carved animals, and gem trees. The gem mining bags and buckets are worth it, considered the best price around with the best finds, containing decent size items and a mineral and/or fossil collection. Workers are really nice and knowledgeable, with fair prices and cute souvenirs. The business is open weekends in January and February and open daily March through December. It is a great tour with really nice things in the shop, highly recommended as a way to see lots of great formations up close.

It was mine and my kids first cave ever and it was cool. Very informative and the rock shop had a large selection. Its a really interesting place to go
