November 2023 by Temeka Gilmore
If it wasn't for my great experience with Danny Sears, this review would have 0 stars. June 2, 2023, I purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey & it has been more of an inconvenience than a convenience. Though it has a warranty, I will have to take my car back for the 5th time (3 times for the same issue). Since Late June to now, I have had issues with this SUV. Per warranty stipulations, I have to have Lanham Auto Repair in Elizabethtown, KY fix my car. It is such an inconvenience because I live in Louisville. Plus, all they do is do band-aid fix jobs & I have to keep bringing it back. I have had to miss work numerous times, stay at someone else's house so I can get to work while paying rent at my apartment. Since the end of June to now, it has been stressful. No one is reimbursing me for any out of pocket expenses I've had to pay. I drive 400 miles round trip to work weekly. I need a dependable car. This was the WORST decision I ever made purchasing a car. I am stuck pain on this for 4 years. The 1st time: I called them two weeks after my SUV had a hard idle & quit numerous times. I had to take off July 5th, sit for 4 hours for them to tell me nothing was wrong with my car. 2 weeks later, I had an oil leak & had to get the engine replaced. The 2nd time: I took it back to the car lot on a Saturday because it was driving funny & it was knocking under my hood. Felt like a real hard thump on the driver side. Come to find out the car didn't have ANY OIL in it. How? The engine was just replaced 2 weeks ago. They told Rachel that my sway bar link was broken & will need to be repaired. That was the thumping I heard. The 3rd time: I got the car back two days after the 2nd time & took it to Tire Discounters the following Saturday to see about my sway bars. They did a bumper to bumper, under the hood inspection. The sway bars were perfect. The 3 motor mounts & 1 transmission mount needed to be replaced. They showed me the mounts and how the engine rocks & vibrates when you press the gas & brake. Some of the mounts looked like they were dry rotted. They told me it needs to be fixed or else the engine could drop. (This is true because Dodge Journey’s don’t have engine brackets to keep that from happening) So, once again, I drove it to the car lot. I gave Rachel copies of the report that Tire Discounters gave me to show them what needed to be replaced. That was on September 4, 2023. September 6, 2023, Rachel called me to tell me the car was ready. They just replaced the transmission mount; the other mounts just had stress cracks.Time #4: Early October, that lovely noise happened again. I made an appointment with Tire Discounters to have them inspect it. October 20, 2023, I took to Tire Discounters & sure enough, it's the motor mounts. They took photos & sent me a video. They told me those motor mounts are BAD. They didn't tell me this to get money out of me. They knew I had a car warranty & they have worked on my family's cars for YEARS. They do this for me for FREE.Once again, I took ANOTHER report BACK to the dealership gave it to Rachel & she copied it. She said she will talk to Marsha & get back with me. Talked to her on October 23, 2023 & she told me, "We have to go by what our mechanic says," and that she will have to call Lanham Auto to get the appointment scheduled. A couple hours later, it was scheduled for November 8, 2023.Yesterday, I took it in, they "fixed" it. They only replaced ONE motor mount. The administrator at Lanham said the mechanic said that the other mounts were fine. They won't buy unnecessary parts. That I will have to talk to Marsha to get it approved. I had to get a ride to pick my SUV up. I got there at 10PM (my mom got the keys earlier that day). I drove it and all the way home, I had the SAME ISSUE.Back to the lot it goes for the 5th time. I called & left a message today & have yet to hear from Marsha.

I had a very bad experience with a previous vehicle that I purchased and they worked to get me into another car. I have been dealing with car lots for a very long time and I have never had one go this much out of the way to help me.Thank you to the staff at swope freedom.

Needed something fixed under warranty and because I went 300 miles past 5000 miles which was beyond my control. The dealer had to schedule me and in that time I went over and they aren't gonna cover the warranty item. They voided my warranty. So I'm extremely unhappy. There's nothing I could've done and would love to speak with whoever is in charge of the warranty and get that resolved

Dont go here. they'll void your warranty if you're just a little late on an oil change. I was 200 miles late in my last oil change and they voided my warranty and wouldn't fix my vehicle. and the part that went bad wasn't even related to the oil. won't be buying from them again and I'm not referring anyone unless we get this solved.

Very pushy salesperson, would recommend staying away from here. Keeps trying to push paperwork through even when my wife isn't dealing with him anymore. Extremely high prices and a fixed interest rate (15%).

I know people have good days and bad from both sides..customer and employees...i feel its up to how you treat people for your experience to be good or bad.. My point is there were two repairs they didnt have to fix but they did....they didn't have to give me extensions but they did..i treated them with respect and they treated me the same..in the few months ive had my 09 dodge journey...they've helped me beyond belief...thank you Marsha..Rachel...Danny and there mechanic that backs them up Craig Lanham autoshop..

Currently buying a car from them. Would not recommend them to anyone, have been talked down to by the person taking my car payment, telling me if I lose my job because of the car it isn't their problem.
