I tent-camped at Horine Reservation, which is atop lovely wooded bluffs. It's clean and clearly well-maintained. Quiet, too, though an airport is nearby and sometimes I heard planes overhead.

Didn't I just rate this place or did I rate somewhere else?

This place is amazing. You can catch some fish and relax or explore many of the trails. There are super easy trails and then there is a trail that is 6 miles long and will really challenge you. If you like nature then this is the place for you.

I had a great time here with my girlfriend. We walked a few trails through the forest and spent time sitting by the lake enjoying the warm weather and view. This place is beautiful and some might be offended by the graffiti we found located at a pavilion on property but I found it to be entertaining and some of it was inspirational. Plenty of others out and about enjoying what the forest had to offer. I'll be back to walk more of the trails we did not explore!

The Scott's Gap Trail in Jefferson Memorial Park is a super awesome hiking trail that gives you some seriously breathtaking views of the hills and valleys around it. It's not too easy but not too hard either, with a little bit of rocky terrain to add some fun to the hike. You'll also spot lots of birds and animals along the way, making it a really cool experience for anyone who loves being out in nature!

I love it here. Today we are going out to look for morels. This area is usually pretty popular as it's do beautiful but this morning my family and I basically saw no one. We are currently taking a break on one of the trails and we haven't given up yet looking for morels. I have never heard of anyone finding any so we will see if we do. I will update this review if we score at all!

We rode the horses here for the second time. This time we brought friends! The trails are among the best I've ridden. Virtually no rocks, which is really saying something around here. There aren't a lot of choices if trails. It's essentially 3 loops with connectors. And if you like walking straight lines, this place isn't for you. It's very curvy. But it's beautiful and not crowded. We will be back.

It’s a beautiful preserve but please do a better job of maintaining the paths. For those of us who are older it’s a challenge enough to deal with an uphill climb. When you add steep and narrow paths that are not well defined it makes it a bit rougher. Of course having to climb or duck under downed trees along the path makes it more of a hindrance. Still it’s a beautiful area and even more so on a beautiful fall day when the fall colors are so bright.

We barely scratched the surface of the very large park system known as Jefferson Memorial Forest. From what we hiked and viewed that day, it should be added to your list. If you live in Louisville, KY or you just like to hike new places, make time to use of this wonderful gift.Things to know. Plan your trip by visiting MemorialForest.com or WildernessLouisville.org, pick an area and click on Hit the Trails. As to directions, make sure to use the actual address of 11311 Mitchell Hill Rd, Fairdale, KY 40118. The Welcome Center through Google Maps will get you lost!

Good place for hiking, there are trails for everyone. Outdoor barbecues are all over the place. They alos have bathrooms and playground for children. The fishing is pretty good and the place is well kept.
