So the post office is a hard place, it's hit or miss when it comes to service. I live in Gary, and started going to the post office for my parents, because they use money orders! I would get treated with super strong attitudes. The machine would break, money orders get stuck, and attitudes given out for free. I moved around to post offices until I found one that didn't mind giving money orders. I found the Highland office on Kennedy! Now depending on who's there, overall it's ok. Just don't ask for one of those envelopes. But this young lady, Keyonna, I hope I spelled her name right, she was so professional in working with customers. No attitude, genuine concern, and service! There's another young lady named Perry. She also provides the customer service you deserve. I watched her explain something 4 to 5 times, repeating the information to the customer, all though he was not so recptive, she kept her cool. The service is appreciate so much!!! Thank you Keyonna and Perry for your kindness!

Best post office ever! Small post office means very personal attention, dealing with the same employees you get to know and who get to know you. They offer everything a large post office offers but long lines and impersonal service. Thanks guys!

Only open 4 hours most days. At least they have drop box, but it gets jammed at times.

This is the worst post office in HISTORY. I recently moved to the Philpot area from a city of about 50k people. I am used to a nice, caring man delivering my mail daily. I got him cards during Christmas season and cold bottles of water during the summer. Great guy. I wish I could say the same about my current carrier/post office. Rudy V. is the name of the carrier and Tammy is the post master in Philpot, KY. They have both been extremely rude to both myself and my wife. Rudy has been allowed to curse at me on my doorstep in front of my child. He has been allowed to snatch things from my hands and has been aggressive with my mailbox whenever I ship packages. See, I run a business and I ship anywhere from 5-20 packages a day. Rudy doesn't like to work, so he let me know that I was a "Pain in his a** ever since moving here." This ignorant and lazy postal worker isn't the half of it. I order many supplies online through Amazon Prime for my business. They are guaranteed to be delivered on specific dates. It is important for the flow of business for me to receive these goods on time, as scheduled. PRIME IS A GUARANTEED SERVICE. I have to routinely go and get my packages from the post office because the mailman is TOO LAZY to knock on my door and leave the packages. I've also heard that there "wasn't room" in the vehicle for my packages along with the others that were needing delivered. They put orange slips in the mailbox about how "we missed you" and they don't even TRY to deliver the packages. They don't even have the packages in their car, I'd venture to say. Go into the Philpot post office and there are mounds of packages needing delivered that often sit there until the supposed recipient comes and gets them. This is EXTREMELY inconvenient for a business owner. I can't stop what I'm doing once a day to go to the post office. That is why I pay for Amazon Prime and why I ship my products from home. I've been to the post office 3 times this week for things have I've ordered and haven't received and there they always are, sitting in the back room. Yes, I've been there 3 times this week alone and it is THURSDAY. Egregious? I think so. I've tried to call the postmaster, I've tried to call their boss, Inspector Casey Fincher. I've tried to call Mr. Fincher's boss Tony Gooding in Louisville. Nothing has been done as of this moment about these issues. I'm not the only one, either. You can google "philpot KY postal issues" and find more than one account of people complaining about similar things. They do not hear when you complain, and they don't care to fix their shortcomings. Why any government office is allowed to operate in such a manner, I'll never know. The worst thing is that I have no cost-effective alternative to using the USPS for my needs, so I'm stuck until I move from this area. Yes, this terrible service has prompted me to move my home and my business as far away from Philpot as possible. And to think, it all stems from ONE CARRIER that didn't want to do their job. Unacceptable.
