I have made a few purchases here. The staff is friendly and polite. Prices were listed on the high side, (as are all businesses of these type) but the folks were eager to adjust it down to secure the sale.

Worst pawn shop I've been to yet. The ones in Lexington are much better. Poor service and not much knowledge from the guy about guitars. Acts like he knows about guitars. But not much other than he knows they make sound.

Unfortunately there is not a rating for ZERO stars or else I would have marked ZERO. A fellow pro pool players and his girlfriend had their pool cues stolen out of their vehicle at their residence. They proceeded to call this pawn shop looking for their cues and cases and also, putting them on notice to be looking for their property. A few days later, this pawn shop BOUGHT their stolen property from the thief! The thief was caught, jailed and the pawn shop refused to give the property back to the owners. The owners of the pool cues subsequently had to !PURCHASE! their own property back!! Really!? My recommendation: Run as fast as you can from doing business with this pawn shop. Shady McShady knowingly purchasing STOLEN property (which we would ALL think is against the LAW) that the pawn shop was told by the owners was STOLEN from them several days before they purchased it from the thief.

I don't know why people complain about Dan's. It's a pawn shop, what do you expect, full price for your items? They've always been fair and respectful when I need a loan. If you don't like it, go to a bank and go through that process. Sometimes, all you need is a few bucks for a week or two and this place has always been there to help me out, as well as their other locations.

If you don't like it, go to a bank and go through that process.
