January 2023 by Gabrielle Butler (The Great 8 Helping Hands)
Called to ask about Wella sale and the lady that stated she was the manager (called at 1pm) was very rude and told me she does not know, she thinks the sale starts tomorrow and that she is busy putting up signs and it’s a mess. I hung up and called the Lexington store and the young lady went to check and told me that they are currently on sale. Anytime someone of color enters the Georgetown store you are followed around and rushed to purchase and get out. Only because it is the holiday I will today as my last day go to the Georgetown location to get what I need. I have been a Cosmetologist since 2008 and I have spent a great deal of my income in this store. But let the New Year 2023 bring all that have experience what I have experienced over the years come to an end, by not purchasing at such said place. No more Sally’s for me!

I am a licensed cosmetologist and also a school teacher. I have visited the Sally's here in Georgetown on two occasions. Both times I was confronted by the same salesperson rather abruptly asking what I needed. I told her I was just looking. She followed me around and asked what I was looking for in particular. I told her gel nail polish and a curling iron and that I was also interested in faux hair clip ins. She said we don't carry those since Covid, you will have to go to Lexington. I'm sure she was doing her job. I was dressed professionally and I was polite however, I felt extremely uncomfortable with her following me around like I was going to steal something. I couldn't even look at the things that I wanted to buy. I eventually went to Ulta to get what I wanted.

No matter how loyal of a customer you are and how much of your hard earned money you spend there, they will NOT refund you. For the first time in over seven years of shopping at Sally’s beauty, I made my first attempt at getting a refund for products I was not happy with and they refused to me. I was well within the 60 days policy on the refund policy on both the back of my receipt and the sally beauty website and I was returning product that the return policy said I could return, and they flat out refused. Even after showing them the return policy on both my receipt and the website they said that they did not care and that they do not have to follow the refund policy for any reason. After calling their customer support with corporate I was informed that they are not allowed to refuse the return policy and that they should refund my money, but they still refused. Do not shop here if you feel like you may ever want a refund because they will not give it to you and you’ll have to drive 10 miles out of your way to go to another Sally beauty‘s that actually follows corporate policy to get your refund.

I absolutely love this store and the wonderful ladies who run it. Even when they are hot and annoyed because the air is out, they still come in and sit in misery just so us customers can come iui n and get the things we need. Keep up the amazing work ladies

I'm so disappointed that the air conditioning is still broke after 2 months! The employees should NOT have to work in those conditions! I couldn't even finish getting what I need. What in the world???♀️?????

This store DOES/WILL NOT hold up to their return policy!! I will not shop at this location again. A company should not have a policy they don't/ won't stand behind. PERIOD.

I have never been in this store and had an issue. This last time, the cashier that we had was so very rude!!! Her name tag was turned around so we couldn't get her name but she was extremely rude and pushy. Not to mention she followed us around the store like we were trying to steal. I won't go back. I will drive all the way to Lexington before I go to this one again!!!

Terrible customer service. I was at the Georgetown Sally’s on Thursday morning a little after 10:00 am. Blond woman asked if I needed help. I explained that I was looking for a different hair color (the one that I really liked is no longer available). And the last color recommended to me looked rather blah. The phone was ringing so I told her that if she needed to answer the phone that’s fine. She took the call. The call sounded as though it was another employee or distributor discussing some order. The employee couldn’t say, “I’ve got a customer, I’ll call you back?!?” In the mean time another customer charged in. This customer was rude, loud, dropped the f-bomb ranting about her boyfriend’s messed up hair color and came into the aisle where I was standing - NOT maintaining a 6’ distance. Blond woman working at Sally’s gets off of the phone and starts to help this rude person who came in after me (also not maintaining a 6’ distance) Completely ignoring me. I walked out. I’d say 95% of the time I cannot get good good service or advice about hair color. After today, I am done with Sally’s. I’m sure that I can find hair color elsewhere online.

This location does not care about protecting their customers from covid. Sign posted up outside saying you must wear a mask, and another sign saying maximum of 5 people inside. Upon arrival with my mask on yesterday, I was asked to wait outside as they were at their current max capacity of 5 customers. No problem! Understood the rules and considering how small the shop is, I appreciate they’re only allowing so few people inside. After one customer left and I was waved to come inside. Almost immediately after I was in the door, the older blonde haired gal working the register (not to be confused with the other short older blonde haired gal) allowed two men inside (making the customer count 7 people) into the store with no face masks on. She obviously knew them, and with the store being so small I got to listen to her ask about how their vacation was they just got back from, asking about their upcoming trip they’re about to go on, and tons of other details that told me they had no regard towards the current global health crisis. Absolutely no effort was made to hold these customers accountable in order to protect everyone else inside. Guess the rules don’t apply if you’re a favorite customer. As someone who is around people who are immunocompromised, going to Sally’s is my way of safely doing my hair at home and avoiding having to go to a salon and now I don’t feel safe returning. All other employees working yesterday were doing their part to be safe, but their efforts are completely discredited by any one employee unwilling to do the same.
