Went to adopt a cat, after 1 of ours passed away. They refused to allow us an adoption due to me having an Australian shepherd that wasn't spayed. She is a breeding female for working dogs, and only 3 years old. Went to Harrison County, they were very happy to have us give a cat a forever home.

I had some puppies stolen from and even tho I never signed paper work they refused to give them back. They said they couldn't take them from the new owners ,but they was promised toy grandbabies so they are very sad and cried for the puppies So if I had stolen puppies just take them to the humane society at Indian acres in Georgetown

This place is amazing. They give so much back to the community where they can, and any donations made do not go to waste. Along with maintaining the humane society itself, they offer free dog and cat food, occasional reduced prices, and wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. If you have a little extra to spend, this is a perfect cause to do it for.

The Scott County Humane Society is clean, bright & cheerful. I stopped in to leave items for their booth at the Peddler's Mall, and the man who helped me was so nice. All the kitties were napping but I petted them anyway I'm so glad to support the SCHS; they partner with PetSense and Central Purrk cat cafe to help kitties find their forever homes! ❤️

Located in the Indian Shopping mall in Georgetown- I love their mission. They rescue and adopt out cats/dogs, etc into the community- they partner well with the Scott County Animal Shelter as well. What I also love is that they offer an option to offer gently used or new items for drop off so they may sell in their Peddlers mall shop- all proceeds go to the humane society to care for the animals. In my time in KY over a couple weeks I was able to drop off two full car loads and I feel so much better knowing it will go to serve the animals over dropping to some of the other area drop offs.

Spade and neuter your pets or feral cats at a reasonable price with a certificate, you can then bring to a local participating Vet. Also great place to bring the toys your spoiled pets don’t play with, treats and pet beds
