Penn's General Store, a slice of history! As the oldest general store in Kentucky (I think), it's a step back in time with its charming atmosphere and authentic vibes. From local goods to nostalgic treasures, it's a true gem preserving tradition while offering a unique shopping experience for all.

This is an amazing step back in time. Remember, Penn's store is only open on Saturday and Sunday! Find a weekend, drive out, spend a little or leave a donation. Sit a spell on the front porch and find a local to chat with.We need to keep places like this alive.

This store is the oldest Country Store in America still in ownership and operation by the same family. It has been in since 1850 and is now run by its 6th geneiation owner. The owner was very hospitable and kindly explained the history of the store to us in an easy-to-understand manner. Must go!Visited on October 1, 2023

Classic country store, genuine old stores are disappearing in rural areas. Fascinating history and international acclaim. Well worth stopping in to meet local folks, get some old-fashioned candy, and listen to the genuine stories of a family descended from William Penn.

This is a must see place in Kentucky. It is the oldest general store in the state and has been in the same family since 1850. The owner was very kind and told us the history of the store. The drive through the country to get to this place is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend making the trip to this little piece of Kentucky history.

A historically special and quaint place. Small, but neat little trinkets, daily goods, and other neat souvenirs can be found within the store. Jack the cat and the Owner Dawn were both very welcoming. Hours when my family and I visited were only on Saturday and Sunday from 1-5pm "or until the last customer leaves". Dawn was a lively and sweet woman who told us such interesting facts and history about this centuries old place.
