Editing because my last review was too vague. The individual I spoke with over the phone today, from this particular location, was extremely rude. I will never use 5/3 again and I absolutely will not promote them or recommend them to anyone else I know.
They will charge you fees if your account remains unused for a period of time. This past summer 5/3 reached a $20 million settlement with the CFPB due to many bizarre things they did to their consumers.
Honestly, I wouldn't have been so upset if the individual I spoke with wasn't rude. I have closed my accounts, I will not be coming back.

This review is specifically in response to this 53 branch (the corporate office is another story), as they have been provided one of the most kind and helpful baking customer service experiences I have had with in a while. They went the extra mile to make sure my needs were met, and I want to thank them for that.

We have always had a great experience at this Fifth Third. They know their customers and take good care of them. Fifth Third is the only bank I use.

I urge everyone to avoid any and all 5/3 banks. Do not go through them. They have charged me numerous unexplained fees, countless overdraft fees. My account has never been in the negative. I spoke to 7 different people at 7 different locations, every single person had a different reason as to why I was charged these fees that are supposedly non reversible. I am now $148 over drafted from these fees. I am on a fixed income. This amount is taking almost half of my paycheck. I will now be behind on my bills due to their errors. I have researched this and read many stories and lawsuits on how they take several days to take purchases out of your account, so then when they clear, on THEIR end your account is in the negative (supposedly) so they take overdraft fees. Although it doesn’t show this way on our end. It’s their way of scamming us. I’m extremely cautious of my account and manage my money very well. Their overdraft fees are $37 per charge and $25 every week your account is over drafted. This is ROBBING people. No credit Union or bank I have ever went through has ever charged this much. I’m closing my account out here and going through my old credit union.

Hard to get help here. Just the standard "sorry, there is nothing I can do (blame the customer for poor communication) standard.

I was assigned this bank when I applied for a pre-approval for a mortgage. The person I was assigned to was very nice and everything was going well until exactly 1 week before I was supposed to close. I was notified exactly 1 week before my original closing date that the grant that I was told I would be receiving to help with my down payment and some of my closing costs would actually not be going to me due to an error the lender did not catch, which was the qualification for the grant was different in the county I was buying my house in so that is why I could not receive this grant. As a lender, I would think that you would know this information before you tell your buyer. The bank also refused to do anything about their mistake or rectify the situation. I could have switched to another lender, but the deadline for that grant expired in 2 days and it would have also extended my closing date another 30 days. I will never get another loan with Fifth Third and do not recommend their services at all.

I would have given no stars if possible. This bank has changed so much and for the worse. Went in to open joint account with husband and had to wait for someone to acknowledge we were even there. I guess the workers rather discuss vacationing than open up an account. Anyway, husband said to the nasty girl that we wanted to open up an account. We both had headaches and the nasty girl was speaking loudly. I asked her if she could lower her voice a little bit, because her volume was very high for even a regular conversation. Megan King at the Hebron branch started asking for phone numbers and email addresses. And got angry when we didn't want to provide the information. My husband stated that we would prefer not to have to give that information out, because of spam. Megan looked at my license and decided to discuss that with me as well. Not to mention her voice was getting louder and her office was very hot. So I decided to go back out to the lobby. Upon trying to complete the opening of the account and Megan's voice not wanting to come down even a notch. Megan was a (rhymes with witch) towards me. So I decided to take my business to another bank, so we went to First Financial. The ladies that worked at that bank were so warm and friendly. Fifth Third should take lessons from them. So word of advise, they claim to be better but they are not. And Megan E. King needs to bring her nose back to reality and not act so stuck up toward customers
