They have good food, nice workers. It was nice eating breakfast in there with my husband and a restaurant full of elderly men meeting their friends for breakfast. I like eating there.

Never knew Jesus taught his followers to be so rude. First time visit for a to-go order. Ordered the meat&3 for $15. Basic unseasoned Sysco frozen food. Canned beans and frozen meat. Wanted to add soup&salad but the heavy set lady that came to help the girl at the register told her it would be $10.99 extra. For one small to-go box of lettuce and a small cup of soup? $11? Really? I'll never understand what has happened to good customer service and reasonable unrude people. I went to the grocery store next door and bought a can of soup and a salad for $7. You'd think if you spend $20 for LUNCH you'd get a salad. And if I ate here, the cost would be an extra few bucks. Makes no sense. Lady got rude when I left because I'd already paid the younger smaller girl and she looked dumb trying to charge me again. First and last visit. Not worth $30 for a small piece of meat, vegetables, a small salad, and a cup of soup. What has happened to the good honest business owners in America? They are all greedy and money hungry.

My wife and I ate the catfish fiddler for lunch today, along with slaw and northern beans, and I'll have to say the worst catfish I've ever tried to eat. OVERCOOKED AND GREASY!! When asked if everything was good, I shared my complaint and was asked if it was overcooked. I replied yes and she said "I'll discount it". $1.00 per plate!! PLEASE

Food was ok. Long wait to be acknowledged, folks who entered after we did were waited on and served before us. Then wait at register to pay. Maybe if you are a regular you get better service. Eaten here before and was disappointed this time. Just a cold atmosphere for a visitor!

The start of my first official day in Kentucky kicked off at Eastgate Family Restaurant. My friend who’s from here advised that Eastgate Family Restaurant has the best breakfast in the city. Based on what he said I had to go.As Eastgate Family Restaurant sits in a parking plaza there is ample parking. Upon walking it you are met with a sign to seat yourself. The restaurant is huge but has the feel of a small down home diner. The decor is very simple and dominated by gray tones.Once seated we were greeted by Lisa who was all smiles and midwest charm. The menu has an abundance of options but the breakfast section was calling my name. LoL!As I watched the servers bring out some other dishes I had to think long and hard about what I wanted. Being that my tastebuds we’re all over the place I decided to go A-La-Carte, don’t judge me.Food:Grits - The grits were plain. There was nothing special about them overall but they satisfied my desire for some grits. The serving size was very generous and after adding 6 packs of butter I was happier. LoL!Bacon (well done) - The bacon was the bomb. It was thick and well done just how I like it. Even with being well done it still had the robust flavor profile of smoked pork. Truth be told, I would come back for the bacon alone.Home Fries (well done and add onions) - The home fries were thinly sliced which made the crispyness even better. Though they were thin they still had the softness in the middle. They hit the spot.Overall, Eastgate Family Restaurant was a good meal with great service at a great price. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for home cooked flavor without having to cook it.
