Paul Tompkins established Monument Works in 1967 as an extension of Tompkins Funeral Home. In 2003, Chip Tomblinson purchased the funeral home and monument company, renaming Monument Works to Tomblinson Monument Company. In 2014, Chip separated the monument company from the funeral home to its first office on the southeast corner of First and Green streets in Henderson. In 2016, the monument company purchased the building at 317 First Street, located across the adjoining parking lot of Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Chip managed the monument company until hiring Billy Smith as full-time manager in 2006 to oversee sales and installations.
