We recently hauled a cutting horse from New Mexico to Northern Kentucky. Shayna was a tremendous help when Rowdy needed a place to rest overnight. She also put us in contact with a veterinarian and picked up medicine since we were arriving after hours. Rowdy was able to rest overnight and we completed our trip the next day. Thanks for everything, Shayna!

Definitely not open 24 hours. I stopped by there to take a look at the facilities and ask some questions. This woman was nothing but rude and nasty. I was looking to board there but was told YOU NEED TO CALL ME…call me crazy but I want to see where my horse is going to live. Her stables are full but I don’t know how. Maybe she would have been more pleasant if she needed my horse. If I could give her zero stars I would have.

You never have to worry when u board your horse at Lamp Post Stables. Shanna gives them excellent love and care and will even transport your horse if needed. She has long term boarders who never want to leave and that is a great compliment to the care each horse receives!

The lady there that runs the barn is very curteous, and thorough. It's a smaller boarding stable, and due to that, the horses receive a greater degree of attention and care than I've seen out of the larger places!!

I love this place. She has always been so kind to me and my horse. Very accommodating! I have a special needs horse (she is blind) and she is always quick to let me know if she thinks something is off with her. I highly recommend boarding your horse here!

I came from out of state to go to college, and shaina was so welcoming answered all my questions before I moved my quarter horse to her facility. She is in a prime location literally 3miles or less from the veterinary clinic that treated our horses. Which also happens to back up to Jefferson forest which has miles of trails to ride on.Shaina gives top notch care to ALL the horses on her property. When I was there, we found out my horse was "allergic to Kentucky". She would keep me posted on my horses bad days when I couldn't be there and would administer medication, special grain as directed/ or needed.Stalls always have fresh bedding. Fans are always on during hot summer days. I remember a time when it had gotten so cold in the winter, below -15 or -20°, shaina rented an outside heater, had the horses inside and she stayed with them in odd hours of the night. She always is on top of the weather and has plans for severe weather. She decorates the barn for holidays and keeps the barn clean. She also has a nice sized tack room to store all you belongings, and was kept locked (when I was there). When I found Out I was moving to Kentucky for good, I had found a house that could support my horse passion. She was the first person to volunteer and help me move my horses to my new place, (as I didnt have a trailer). She also helped give the most beautiful wedding a girl could ask for. My husband and I got married in Shelbyville ky at a venue that allowed horses. When I asked her if she would bring my horses to that venue so my horses could be apart of my special day, she did not hesitate. She was excited for me, and asked about the safest route to get there. She also has a dove release business as well that I used during my wedding day that added something different to our special day. Shaina is phenomenal. The list can go on.

If I could give this boarding facility more than 5 stars I would. It’s is a small facility ( under 10 stalls? ) that is managed properly and efficiently.Shanna and Shawn the owners take care of all the horses as they care for their own horsesThe horses are let out daily and let out times are dependent on weather, if it’s hot, horses are with their fans and let out in the evening when cooler. My horses were NEVER LEFT OUT IN STORMSAND SHANNA WATCHES THE WEATHER MORE THAN A METOROLIGIST.I have a older horse than needs special feed/ meds/ supplements/ care. Shanna never complained and always cared for my boy .Stalls are kept clean/ dry and bedded PROPERLYI never worried during those times I was working out of town and couldn’t be around for a week or more.Horses were blanketed when cold and again let out at appriopate times. WATER BUCKETS ARE NOT LEFT FROZE TO A WALL !!This is a small down to earth “HORSE FIRST “type of place. It’s quiet and peaceful and even though some horse transports stay a few days on there way thru ... it’s not hectic. If your looking for a quiet place that’s not pretious and full of drama and attitudes this is the place. You can relax with your horse and relax if your traveling. YOUR HORSE IS CARED FOR.I’ve had horses for years and lived in several states because of work I’ve been in show barnsCountry barns and some VERY EXPENSIVE PLACES that you think would honor your money and treat your horse well. I guess we all learn the hard way. Big money Big facility DOES NOT EQUAL GOOD KIND HORSE CARE!!!!Lamppost Stables IS CLEAN KIND QUIET AND RESPECTFUL of your horse.I sooo miss being there and SO DO MY BOYS.Hopefully I will retire in Kentucky and can utilizeThis wonderful little place again.I hope this review helps all that read it to find a GOOD KIND PLACE for their horses.THANK YOU AND HAPPY TRAILS
