The Jeffers Bend Environmental Center is a hidden gem within the busy city, offering a peaceful and natural escape for visitors. The center boasts a variety of walking trails, a pretty pond, and opportunities for bird watching and public library access. It's a great spot for family outings, with ample open spaces for dogs and humans to play. Visitors can enjoy a picnic or explore the grounds, learning about the local flora and fauna through the informative labels. The center also hosts several seasonal events, including the Take Kids Fishing & Water Activities, Benefit for the Bend, Hummingbird Festival, Naturefest, Torchlight Tales, and Christmas at the Bend. Though the center is generally well-maintained, some visitors have noted issues with dog owners not cleaning up after their pets or keeping them on leashes, which can pose a safety concern.
Great place for a walk in any season. Main trail takes half an hour or so. Note that Google has listed the main road in (Metcalf) as closed for a while - it is NOT closed. It's also the only way in. The back way Google tries to take you goes through a business and a locked gate.

It's nice and well maintained, but difficult to find (Google directions are wrong) and not generally well marked.

My best friend Shiloh and I enjoy walking the trails and the touch of nature within the busy city. A hidden treasure even on the hottest day of summer.
