For the most part great help and advice. Major downside is they surprise you with appointment bad news. If you have an appointment already and they don’t get things the way they like then they surprise you with telling you they booked someone in your place later. They don’t even leave you a message of details saying please call back or your slot will be replaced they just tell you only cause they couldn’t reach you they assumed you were not coming and don’t care some are juggling a lot. Doctors get paid more and they don’t do that. Don’t expect people to know this information when you didn’t even leave them a detailed message and be okay with the fact they made the drive to be told they were replaced with someone else. You better hope I don’t dispute the payment this time and pay of my choice based on this service. You owe me gas money so less pay for you.

Great experience with my tax pro, Tony. He was incredibly kind and very knowledgeable. I am however extremely dissatisfied with how much I was charged. Their website has only ONE price advertised ($85) and I was not given any estimate whatsoever of what my actual cost would be. By the time all of my taxes were done, my total was $410. That’s nearly FIVE TIMES higher than their advertised price. As a single person with one (1) dependent and basic w-2 (not self employed, no side businesses, etc.) I find this insane!The customer service is unmatched. They’re so nice… but the advertisement is misleading and, in my opinion, a steal on HR Blocks part. .

Older man turned me away and said ‘I can’t file these’ I had lived in multiple states that year and just moved to the independence area at the end of the year. I went to H&R Block in Batesville Indiana where I used to go when I lived in my hometown and she took care of me no problem. Might as well use Turbo Tax over the Independence location. If it’s more than just typing in a couple numbers it’s too hard for these guys.

I am not a professional tax preparer and yet I discovered an error in my return. I trust the professionals for a reason. Granted, communication through messaging can make things a bit more complicated, but I expect my tax preparer to be thorough.
