Without a doubt the worst branch/ bank anyone can do business with. Don’t walk but run from this place you will regret doing business here. Lisa at 5471 is the worst tries blaming customer for the bank’s mistakes

They've lost a lot of the plain ol' customer service they used to offer. I like withdrawals in the form of a check payable to myself, but they can't do that at the drive thru any longer because the tellers are off site. They also can't just hand me a $1 bill for all the change in my pocket...I was instructed to run it through the coin counter. Seriously? For 5 dimes and 2 quarters? It's really not that difficult to add up. And...I don't buy the "it eliminates mistakes " excuse. It's about customer service and helping out customers with simple requests, and I've had an account for nearly 30 years.

Apparently CCU likes to approve people for auto loans and then nullify the contract after you’ve already paid your down payment and had the vehicle home for a few days. I wish I could rate them 0 stars. What kind of company that is supposed to help people build their credit and financial portfolio does that?

Terrible loan process. They told me I was approved when I wasn’t, and then refused to answer my phone calls or call me back. I will be closing my accounts and going elsewhere

Wanted to do a shout out to Kenan. He has waited on me numerous times and has always been very helpful.Today I was at the Hamburg location and just so happens he was filling in for someone there today. He helped me resolve my issue and was a total professional. This is why CCU has been my go to financial institution for many years! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new banking facility.

I have banked with CCU since 1997. I got my first savings account there as a teenager, and since have added checking accounts for myself and my children, and I’ve gotten a couple of CDs. A few times a year, they have referral promotions, so I’ve opened my kids’ accounts then to get the $25 referral bonus. I really like the Wealth Building CD, and I think the Round Up Savings is a good idea to help people contribute to their savings- every debit card purchase is rounded to the next dollar, and that is put in a savings account. I recently got my first vehicle loan, and CCU had competitive rates and terms, so I was pleased with that.I’ve used the Meijer Way branch for the past 5 years, and I’ve always been satisfied with the customer service and the hours. I just use it for standard stuff like deposits and withdrawals, but I’ve never had any issues at the ATM, drive through, or inside the building.

Dealt with a teller named Daniel who was awesome. Extremely helpful and thoughtful. The best experience I have had in a bank. Kudos to CCU for making a future customer and treating people like a human being rather than a dollar sign. Highly recommend this CU. Thank you Daniel!

This CCU is TRASH! If it weren’t for the CCU corporate office, I would have closed my account today! The little girl working upfront needs a lesson in customer service! I’ve been with CCU for almost 20 years and I found my service today absolutely appalling!

Closing my account today. Don’t recommend this bank. Specifically the Meijer Way location. Had a check cleared one day, the very next day, a different teller tells me she can’t clear another check due to “teller discretion”. She was very rude and pushy. The manager who JUST cleared my check previously was in his office and didn’t care to even come out and explain how he can clear a check a day before, and then allow one of his tellers to tell me a lie due to “discretion”. I’m praying it had nothing to die with my skin color… which I’m certain it did due to the large amount.

CCU is the BEST bank. I've been with all the top tier branches and nothing comes close to the customer service of Commonwealth.. they treat you like a person and not a number, they care about you as a person, they care about your well-being and are happy to assist you anyway they physically can. I will never use another bank. 10 stars!

If you’re thinking about getting an account with this bank, don’t. There’s no benefit to having this bank whatsoever, no loyalty rewards, bad interest rates, extremely unfriendly customer service on the phone. I’ve had this bank for almost 5 years, and I’ve recently moved to Chase bank because Common Wealth Credit Union refused to dispute a charge on my card. They told me they’d have to make a claim through visa and that it was simply not worth their time because they said they deny almost all disputes. They talked to me like I was a child and didn’t handle my dispute. I just canceled my credit card with them today and the woman on the phone was extremely rude and condescending, also acting like I didn’t know how credit scores work. Absolutely pitiful customer service and poor benefits. I’d absolutely recommend getting a real bank instead of this credit union.

Horrible customer service. There is no one to talk to after hours. They say you can thru the atm but that’s a LIE!!!! they take your money and don’t even answer the phone. You can’t play with peoples lives like that.

I applied for a mortgage online with Commonwealth Credit Union. I received a Mortgage pre-approval from loan officer James Williams. My wife and I found a house we liked and put in an offer that was accepted. The purchase and sales agreement required us to lock in financing within 5 days of the date of the contract. I provided the Purchase and Sales agreement to Mr. Williams, who then requested more financial documentation to process the loan. I provided the requested documentation and reached out to Mr. Williams again for status of the loan and next steps. Mr. Williams then informed me that because of my wife's bankruptcy in 2018 (due to chronic illness) that all the paperwork would need to be resubmitted in my name alone and the process would need to start over. By this time, it was 10 days after the sales and purchase agreement was signed, and the sellers would not wait any longer and put the house back on the market. Not only are my wife and I out $425 dollars for a home inspection, but because the home was for sale by an owner who did not want to pay realtor commissions on the sale, we paid the realtor $1000 out of our own pocket for her help. Jaynel Christensen (VP of Lending at Commonwealth Credit Union) has admitted to the mistake of not catching the bankruptcy at the initial application stage and offered to compensate us for the home inspection but not what we paid the realtor, and suggested we ask for that money back from her. I explained that I was uncomfortable with that, because our realtor had worked for the money in good faith, and the payment to her was not part of any contract that she didn't fulfill. The misconduct was on part of Commonwealth Credit Union, not her. I told Ms. Christensen that I would not accept a partial reimbursement and that they still owe my wife and I $1425.
