They get you wil the online prices but it something else when you get there. I’m so pissed. They ain’t nothing but a scam. Just know if you keep a car for over 4 days you be charged for a whole week

Arrived 1 hour early to pick up the car. Told me I need to wait to get a car for an extra hour in the airport. I asked if the car was not ready. They said no, it was. But it is not your scheduled time for pickup. Then, I charged me an extra 400 dollars for deposit, which was not mentioned when I prepaid. And did not have the correct vehicle when I arrived. Overall, the place sucks, I will never use them again. I would much rather spend a little more with anyone else than deal with this trash again.Rented car in Lexington Kentucky, It has now broken down (jeep renegade 26k miles 2021 model ) lucky it happened at a gas station. Called service desk for help. I was told nothing was available until 930am. the next day (13 hours later), so I had to rent a nearby hotel in Texarkana. When on the phone, I asked if I was going to be reimbursed for the hotel room. The service desk had no answer for it. Said that the local area will decide if I get reimbursed or not. Lucky for me, I have enough money to pay for a hotel room for me, my wife, and 2 year old son. So now at 9:30AM I get to see if I get lucky enough for the local center to have a car, of that the service desk is unsure. Hopefully, they can get me another in the morning. Thank you, dollar/hertz rental, for stranding me in another state. And probably won't reimburse me for the hotel rental.I will post more at the story unfolds. And the story unfolds. They have not reimbursed me for anything. Customer relations only talk by email 7-10 business days, maybe. And the comments left on these reviews are just damage control, they have a team that doesn't do anything for you they just post comments on reviews just to attempt to make it look like they are looking into the issues. They are not. It's basically fake. If you talk with them, they will tell you that they can't do anything. They just work for the social media team.I'm thinking about getting a lawyer to go after them at this point. Im out of pocket close to 1000 dollars extra just to get my family home. Im furious at this point. Horrible company DONT USE THEM!!! This is your warning, absolutely terrible.

Rented the “Managers Special” had to wait a little longer than I wanted too, and once I got the car, I was pleased. Will definitely rent from them again.

They stuck me with an EV, it was not fully charged when they gave it to me, and they could not instruct me on how to charge it. The battery to the vehicle that they loan me ended up being bad and I asked for a tow to take it back to the airport because the car will not make it and they will not cover the tow. They refuse to hold accountability for giving me a car with a bad battery, and it does not seem like dollar cares for their customers, The employees were nice and did what they could however, company policy stopped them from actually being able to correct the situation.

They didn't give me all the information and when I went to pick up the vehicle I couldn't and they refused to give me a refund. This was my way to Florida for my vacation which I missed out on. So not only did I lose $700 to this company I lost my Airbnb rental. Worst car rental company I have ever dealt with. If they had a zero atar rating that's what they would've got from me. Very very disappointed

Sent a tow truck to pick up my car without even notifying me, calling me or charging my card on file. I had a long term rental with monies owing which I was happy to pay for and thought I pay at the end of the 3 month rental when I drop the car off. Turns out they dont send any payment reminders, contact you or anything. When I called (which ends up going to a Filipino call center, and it is impossible to speak to a local depot) after they towed my car (having called the police to find out it had been towed) they then refused to let me pay the remaining monies and collect the car, leaving me stranded an hour drive away. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DODGY DODGY OPERATORS THAT LACK BASIC COMMUNICATION AND PAYMENT SYSTEMS IN PLACE FOR LONG TERM RENTALS.

The first car they tried to give us was dirty, smelled like smoke, and had cigarette holes in the seat. The vehicle looked and smelled as if it hadn’t even been cleaned before. So we asked for another vehicle. The second car rear passenger tire has slow leak which we didn’t realize until the next morning. We thought maybe the tire pressure was just low so we filled it up on the way to our hotel. The next morning, we came out and the tire had lost over half its air pressure. The agency said we would have to pay for a new tire because we had already had the vehicle over an hour. This is the WORST experience I’ve had with any car rental agency before. Not to mention the $374 price for four days is horrible. I’ll never come to Dollar Rental again.I only have one star bc the counter agent at the airport was helpful.

I am not recommending Dollar to anyone. I was slated to pay $399.16 TOTAL on my online reservation receipt, with $278.65 paid upfront and $120.51 paid upon arrival. When I arrived, I was informed that there were NO CARS of our class available and I asked if there was any way to prevent this from happening in the future. The lady informed me that there is no way to guarantee a car, even if the reservation was booked months in advance. The lady offered a free upgrade to the next vehicle class and apologized. However, I had to upgrade past the next free vehicle class upgrade that was offered to fit all my bags. I ended up paying the $278.65 prior, and an additional $608 at the counter, making my total $886.65. On top of that, there were extra booking fees/charges that were not itemized in the online booking, which I see as deceitful. I would never have booked if I knew there were fees that were not included in the online booking receipt. I usually do not book with Dollar, but I decided to because of the low cost. After this experience, I'll stick to Enterprise since they list all their booking fees/charges upfront. Thanks!

Decent vehicle and when we returned from the airport, the attendant reviewed the vehicle and there was no damage. A month later, Dollar sent us a letter saying we owed them $600.00 for a cracked window. They sent a single poor quality picture where there is a linear reflection in the windshield that they put two superimposed parallel lines. I was so shocked there was damage to the vehicle that we, or the attendant, didn't notice. When I looked more carefully at the photo, there was NO crack in the windshield. I tried to contact the claims department, but they had no way to contact someone via telephone so I emailed them. After multiple back and forths, they would never provide any other photos actually showing any damage and just told us it would go into collections if we didn't pay. Awesome. Still working on this, but spare yourself the pain and NEVER RENT FROM DOLLAR!!

Total rip off. I bought a hotel/reantal car package from priceline. Paid for it up front. When I went to pick up the rental car, was charged an addictonal 286. In total 486 including deposit...Had to have the car so I paid it.. Then was ask if I wanted the car insurance.. I did say yes...after my trip was completed, I questioned priceline who then looked into my addictional charges. I was told I would recieve no refund because I purchased the insurance....I did get my deposit back but I don't pay that much insurance no my own car a month, why would it cost 286.00 for a two day trip...don't use Hertz or Dollar.. one in the same.

It was a terrible experience! I booked through Priceline and due to information they don't disclose upon payment I was never able to rent/use the car. The only positive is that I got a refund.

Terrible company. They are thieves! Last week I returned my car to the Corpus Christi airport and accidentally locked my brand new iPad Pro in the vehicle. I had already dropped the key in the lock box when I realized and there were absolutely no rental car employees there to open it for me. I called and I was told I had to fill out a lost and found form online. I went back out to the vehicle and took a video of my iPad sitting on the front seat in the locked car and the license plate number. They refused to notify the employees at that location that the iPad was on the front seat. I’m assuming I will never see the iPad again and that one of their thief employees took it and pawned it most likely. The video is still on my phone if someone from the dollar would like to contact me. By the way Hertz owns this company.

worst place I've ever dealt with , I rented a vehicle from them last month with debit card only for them to cancel it because I didn't have a credit card to put on file when I go to pick up the rental. They said they'd give a refund and speaking with five different people and told 7 to 10 days I'm still waiting on my refund. worst experience ever.

If i could give ZERO stars i absolutely would. I will never rent from them again. First off they charged me $201 for a 2 day rental. That was fine. When i asked to extend it for a day they told me it would be an additional $150. I was not ok with the $150 for an extra day but circumstances at the time left me no choice. However once i returned the vehicle literally 38 minutes past the scheduled time they charged my card $871 and some change. Saying it was a late fee applied, failure to call and extend rental, and some other made up fees that i can’t really remember... after speaking to the manager Emily, who refused to give me her last name, i was so livid because she told me the representative i had spoke to the day before was in an Oklahoma reservation center and they had no way of contacting that call center to confirm what i was telling them. She said it was the best rate available. Basically i had to pay or else. Now, do the math...$201 for the pick up. $200 holder on my card for deposit. And $871 charge once returned. I had the vehicle from March 6 9:30am until March 10 5:02pm...FOUR days...they told me it was considered a weeks rental. So that’s literally $1271 for 4 days because i have yet to receive a deposit back. I will NEVER rent from here again. I should have known better to rent from a company that’s filed bankruptcy. Lesson learned!!!
