Windshield Damage and Denied Claims: A Goodyear Experience
As a follow up, I called the support number as the Goodyear response suggested below. The customer service department that answered said they were not associated with the “company” that responds to these reviews. They did take my information but I never heard back. So I assume these responses are written by a third party online reputation management company that uses AI auto responders developed to only give viewers the impression that they care.
On February 19th, I brought my 2018 Dodge Ram to the Goodyear Service Center on Richmond Rd in Lexington, KY. I asked for a tire installation, balancing, and an oil change. When I picked up my truck, I saw a horizontal crack in the windshield that spanned its entire width. I immediately informed the store manager, who sent a technician to meet me in the parking lot. The technician stated there was nothing he could do, leaving me in the parking lot holding my invoice.
I returned home and immediately contacted Goodyear’s corporate office to report the incident. They apologized and explained that the store manager should have inspected the windshield and filed a claim on the spot. Later, I was contacted by Goodyear’s claims office, who collected my information, and assured me I would hear back within 48 hours. However, I never received a follow-up from Goodyear’s corporate. Instead, the store manager (who was too busy to inspect the damage), called to inform me that my claim was denied.
As a 30-yr. marketing professional (23-yrs with the Valvoline Company, one of your strategic partners), I understand the value of accountability and customer care. Unfortunately, based on my experience, it appears that if your vehicle is damaged while in the care of a Goodyear Service Center, you might not receive the responsibility and support you expect. Although my insurance will cover the windshield repair, this incident has significantly diminished my trust in Goodyear, and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Made an appointment to have an inspection done at 5:30 for a Saturn SC2 for March 1st, 2025 earlier that week. Got a call asking if I could reschedule it for 4:30 because they the original appointment was too close to closing time. No big deal, so I gave them a call back confirming that yes, 4:30 was good.
I show up at 4:30. Guy at the counter says "We have no availability until Monday" and "Doesn't know who I talked to or set up the appointment with".
Horrible first impression. Inconvenience me by asking to reschedule, THEN when I show up at the rescheduled time, they tell me they have no availability to do it. And this was supposed to be a FREE inspection. If this it the standard of Goodyear then I'd honestly rather PAY another place for something as simple as an inspection.

They did not call me to tell me when my car was ready ever, i called them and they were like it’s been ready. I went to get a tire replaced and it’s advertised that they’ll do a free alignment check and they did not do that, although the receipt says they did. When i asked why they didn’t do it their answer was a smart remark saying “well you just said you wanted your tires fixed. If you want an alignment check sit down it’ll be another hour”. My thing is why would you say you did it on the receipt if you Didn’t do it. Website also says they price match and gave you a $50 coupon. They did not honor either one. I will not be returning here. I was treated very poorly.

Don’t try to book online. I made an 8:30 appointment to have a tire repair done. I cleared my morning and showed up a few minutes early. The person at the counter looked at me like I was from outer space. He finally found my appointment but said his systems don’t talk to one another. He “might be able to work me in” around 11. I ended buying a new tire elsewhere.

I had four Cooper Endeavor Plus tires installed a little over a year ago. After driving 12,000 miles, the tread on the two rear tires was completely worn out. The shop only offered a 60% warranty on the tires. Additionally, they charged me for various fees such as random shop supplies, wheel alignment, tire installation, and a total labor cost of $150. They claimed I signed an agreement for these charges, but I never did.
When I asked for the alignment details, I found out the car was still not fully aligned. They said they couldn’t properly align the car due to manufacturer restrictions on adjusting the camber, and that I needed to take it to a Dodge dealership. Since I now have to go to the dealership for alignment, why was I charged for an incomplete alignment? Despite not agreeing to these fees and incomplete services the shop refused to release my car until I paid.

Walked out of Kroger with a flat tire and went over there. Richard found a nail in it and we had to replace the tire because it was in the side wall but he was so nice and helpful to me with my 19 month old by myself. Got us in and out quickly now we are back on the road safely! 10/10 would recommend on the wonderful customer service alone and the price wasn't bad either!

I had to have my work truck towed in for it not starting. They were fast to call me back with the issue. Then the gentleman on the phone said it would be done the same day or first thing in the morning. Which I was OK with. So then at 8:30 in the morning I called for a status update when Olivia told me it would be several more hours before it was fixed. So I went there about 1030. I proceeded to go ahead and go and wait for the vehicle as I needed to go to work. The front desk person walked into the garage, where Olivia had told him that she had already told me it was going to be several more hours and then seemed confused of why I was there. Finally at 11:30 they had my truck done. Almost 24 hours after it was dropped off. I absolutely will never be back. And none of my colleagues or friends will be back either. Only if they had been honest that would’ve changed my whole experience with them.

Avoid at all cost. Went to get an alignment. They informed me that one of my struts was broken. Talked like it was an easy fix. But they broke both upper control arms, tie rod ends, a passenger side cv axle. They fixed everything they broke, but now my vehicle is making a grinding noise that they can’t figure out. Rick the store manager said cracked open the differential and water poured out followed by oil. But everyone knows that oil is heavier than water and oil would have came out first. Then Rick told me that they don’t due that kind of work. Asked for the district managers name and number and they refused to give me that information. Still waiting for the district manager to call me. More to follow. One star is to many.

Mike Boone (THE DM) Has absolutely ruined this place, AND all the others in his district…. I’ve never once Hurd ANYONE Say “you know, that Mike… he’s a great guy” the employees are scared/annoyed to even come to work anymore due to his belittling and treatment, the disrespect and the level of disgust that man has towards anyone is ridiculous (which is why I left) the racist remarks towards the Latino gentleman, the ungodly remarks towards the people there that I have personally witnessed cry, the way he threatens the techs behind closed doors and not to there faces etc etc…. they need to bring someone in who actually trusts and respects people in general and maybe this store/many others will come back up to par like they used to be ? the place used to be filled with joy and getting things done has tarnished since the new DM

Customer service and price were alright but the work done on my car was horrible (the alignment at least). I paid for the add on alignment when I got four new tires just because I figured it was about that time, that was a mistake. The first time I took it on the highway after getting the tires and alignment the steering wheel shook awfully bad and it veered heavily to the left. I took my car back and they took it out on the highway and said they noticed “minimal shaking” and “a little veering”. They checked the alignment and said it was fine but I overheard a tech saying he didn’t know the last time the alignment rack had been calibrated. They rebalanced the tires as well and now it doesn’t veer to the left, but now it veers to the right. The steering wheel also heavily shakes still and makes an awful shaking sound (I’ve attached a video taken on 8/16, watch the buttons to see it shake). Guess I’ll have to take it to my reliable tire discounters and end up paying even more to get their bad work fixed. Very disappointing as I’ve always been a Goodyear fan.
