Guitar instructor was nice but some of the other employees there are just so rude that we cancelled and went with private lessons. It ended up being the same price and way more convenient.

Needed to change a set of strings on my mandolin. (I’m a violinist and new to working with mandolin strings/windings). I typically go to string luthiers when I need any work done on my instruments, but I was on a time crunch and stopped by their store. JT was fantastic in providing quick, thoughtful service! I asked him a bunch of questions about how to do the process and he kindly provided insight and tips. He also offered to polish the fretboard and put Vaseline/oil on the tuning mechanism, as well as recommendations on picks. I haven’t had good customer service with other music stores in the past, but this one has renewed my hope. Appreciate JT and this store!

My girlfriend and I went in to sell a guitar. This one customer service manager with dark hair and glasses shouted, "Oh my god!"we turned around to see a group of little people entering the store to sell some equipment. She started pointing and laughing at them as they entered the store and tried to get us to laugh with her before looking over and laughing with her co-worker when she realized we wouldn't be partaking in her blatant ableism. We will never be returning to this store.

Smaller guitar center then I'm used to but still had everything I needed.

Today, my boyfriend and I visited this store to try and sell a guitar. While we were waiting, a female staff member (name started with an M, I believe) exclaimed, “Oh my God!” as she was looking out the storefront. Thinking there was something happening in the parking lot, my boyfriend and I turned to look. There was a group of little people coming into the store, and this staff member began smiling and stifling laughter. We then witnessed her laughing with a coworker when she realized we wouldn’t be partaking in her ableist behavior. We are absolutely disgusted and disappointed in this behavior, and will not be returning to this store in the future. I’d also like to add that we didn’t sell to them today. Even if they hadn’t wasted my time, their behavior today would’ve been enough to never want to sell to them.

I went to the Guitar Center here in Lexington to pick up a guitar purchase that had been sent here from the Nashville location. I truly wish that I could remember her name but there was an associate there that I would estimate to be in mid 20's with black hair and wearing glasses. She had to be one of the rudest people that I have met there at the GC. I could go into the whole story but it is not worth it. That being said, if and when I return, I would walk out if she was the only one there to assist me. If she is that burnt out on the retail gig, she should seek a new vocation.

Great selection of strings compared to other stores! Just wish they'd actually put water in the humidifier in the guitar room so the guitars would quit cracking!!!!! Brand new HD 28 had a huge crack right in the middle of the top. Only offered a 5% discount.....not to mention other defects on other guitars in the room due to not being properly humidified. I've never worked at guitar center, and I've got no money in those guitars. But as a guitar lover I would donate my time to fill that humidifier up a few times a week if they'd let!!! I hate to see good instruments get damaged and go to waste due to negligence. There needs to be an "instrument protection services" that this type of neglect can be reported to hahaha.

I called about a keyboard stand and they said they had one for $20. I thought that was rather cheap and fair considering I can stay home and buy one on Amazon for that price ,but I figured what the heck I could go out and get it for $20 and have it today, no trouble. I get there and the cheapest one they have is $45.00. bad customer service all the way around . I had a lot of fun when I was a young , but I never was stoned at work like these men were today. Very disappointed

If you are in a band, you owe it to yourself to see this place. Not only do they have most anything you might need or want, they buy and sell used pieces. They give a fair price for what you're selling, and they charge a fair price for the stuff you buy. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It's definitely going to be a regular stop for me when I'm shopping, especially doing Christmas shopping.

I would specifically like to call out Spencer and Noah from Guitar Center in Lexington. I purchased a guitar a couple months ago from a different Guitar Center. I found out there was an issue with it while traveling through Lexington. I stopped in and both Spencer and Noah went above and beyond to help me with my guitar issue. Their customer service was out of this world. So thankful for them and their willingness to help. People like them create loyal customers.

First and last time i ever visit this guitar center. I have been to most of them around the US. This one is the flat out worst. The employees don’t even try to help or even look at you. Asked a guy to show me something, he was as exciting as colon cancer. They are way understaffed and this lexington store reminds me as if a morgue and a low end car dealership had a child. It would be this guitar center. Do yourself a favor avoid this store at all cost and shop another store online. I do not endorse sweetwater but you will have a better experience.

Sales rep was helpful but didn't go out of his way to offer any alternatives for product that was out of stock.
