If I could put 0 stars I would. Called about a problem I had with my taxes and got transferred to the Tates creek store. Everyone I talked to was rushing me and super rude, seems like they were just trying to push me off onto someone else. I’ve never had that kind of experience with H&R Block and would not recommend coming to this location

I expected professional and knowledgeable tax assistance when I visited H&R Block, but unfortunately, my experience was anything but that. Tax preparer seemed rushed, unprepared, and unfamiliar with some basic tax questions I asked—questions I would expect any trained professional to be able to answer confidently.
What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability. After filing, I discovered several mistakes in my return that required follow-up and correction—costing me both time and money. Attempts to contact the office for clarification were met with delays, unreturned calls, and dismissive attitudes. I felt more like an inconvenience than a valued client.
Tax season is stressful enough without adding poor service into the mix. I strongly urge others to think twice before trusting this location with your finances. There are many other tax professionals who take their responsibility more seriously and treat clients with the respect and competence they deserve.

Staff is rude and unwelcoming. Annette (tax professional) seemed to be uninterested in providing the necessary information for tax preparation.

Years back, Thomas did my taxes. He did them correctly. His health declined so he was no longer able to do my taxes. Another lady took over my taxes, and she would not listen to me. I had to have my mother chew her out. She had that coming but she became really frosty. Apparently she had undid the taxes that Thomas had done, and she didn't fix that after my mother had schooled her. So I got a letter from the IRS that I was entitled to a refund. I tried to get H&R block to help me. And they initially told me there was nothing I could do. I didn't even get my paperwork back from them. So I had to wait till the IRS sent me another letter. I did my research so I could break it down to H&R block. Once again, I wasn't being listened to. I explained that I wasn't being argumentative. I was told something I shouldn't have been told. We can do the ammendment for the refund and see if they come after you for the money you may owe. So, I had to come back with more information. The taxes (K1) at that time were being paid quarterly because California had requested it, therefore the money was being taken out of my monthly checks to pay for that. I was being told by the tax lady that the IRS will never request for that to be done. So I had to come back with proof, and even showed a picture of the check ledger. And I didn't hear a word back from them. They just ignored me!
So, I called the IRS, and got transcripts. And I'm having a different tax place do the ammendment. Don't go to H&R block! They messed up my taxes, they refused to fix it, and they were beyond rude to me!

I went in to take a proctored exam on 4/23/24. The proctor was super kind and older and was professional. The computer was having issues and warranted a phone call to IT. There were 2 other people in there to take the exam too. The proctor called IT and had hearing aids in her ears, therefore, she had trouble understanding. She asked for assistance from her peers, one said she was a manager. This MANAGER stated that she was not a proctor and she wasn't dealing with that because this testing "needs to go away". After initially refusing to talk to IT, the MANAGER reluctantly talked to them but was rude. The proctor asked another girl for help who actually looked at the computer and trouble shootedthe problem, but she was also put out and standoffish. They stated that these computers are to be fixed by the outside company. Those women treated me like an imposition on a day that was extremely stressful for me taking a 4 hour certification exam. It took 45 minutes to get my computer going and it was an awful experience. The poor girls who had to take their tests during the commotion were witnesses to these issues. The older proctor with hearing aids was in tears after being bullied by those non-proctor, unprofessional women that represent HR Block. As a professional myself, I would never take an exam or use any of there services.
