A few months ago, our family eagerly welcomed a new Persian kitten from MVP. Sadly, our joy was short lived when our beloved pet passed away two months later at only 5 months old. Devastated and confused we quickly started doing research, where we learned that another kitten from the same litter suffered a similar fate due to FIP. Investigating further, I uncovered distressing facts about the breeder associated with this store. This breeder's unethical practices have landed them on multiple 'do not sell' lists in Ohio AND the store is not supposed to be even selling CFA registered cats in accordance with their code of ethics. Despite our grief, the response from the store owners was disheartening. Instead of empathy, they quickly involved a lawyer and withdrew their promise of a refund. I received flowers from our kittens food company, a hand written note from all the nurses at the vets office who were involved with our kitten, and the store we bought him from (MVP) did not even say 'I am sorry for your loss" when I told them of the death. The impact on my family, especially my young kids, was profound. We were left grappling with loss and a sense of betrayal. Discovering that Most Valuable Pets prioritizes profit over the well-being of the animals they sell added to our pain. Their loss of BBB accreditation echoes their disregard for ethical business standards. It's disheartening to see them manipulate online reviews, buying positive feedback and deleting negative ones. Their lack of sensitivity compounded our grief during an already difficult time. I implore anyone considering purchasing ANYTHING from MVP to reconsider. Our experience left us heartbroken, and we hope to spare others from a similar ordeal.

My fiance and I purchased a cat from here back in July as an engagement gift to ourselves. In early November, we noticed that he was starting to get sick and took him to his primary vet who informed us of the possibility of a liver shunt. We scheduled an appointment for him to get an ultrasound done, but the day before his appointment he started to get even worse. We rushed him to the vet who gave us the probable diagnosis of FIP. Unfortunately, even after taking him to the emergency pet hospital and keeping him overnight, he passed away. It has come to my attention that this was not just an unfortunate thing that happened to us, but an ongoing issue for DONNA SOUSA and MVP PETS. I will not stop until both are taken down.

I went to MVP today and picked up my regular dog food. The store was so clean and orderly , they have moved things around to give you a wide open experience. My first thought was it didn't smell like a pet store. Smelled like any other really clean retail store (no chorax smell ). Animals of all kinds, in clean surroundings. Would not hesitate to by an animal or food here. All well taken care of, it shows they care.

Staff was friendly even though not very knowledgeable about the pets. They offered everything possible to help make sure our pet (a dwarf hamster)would have what's needed for comfort upon it's arrival at its new home and even gave us free treats to try for the dog we have at home. My grandbaby was allowed to hold a bird. The cage we purchased had a broken door and the guy working made sure he replaced it for us. I will definitely go back.

I have a Macaw, I called MVP and asked if Melissa was still the owner and was told no, she retired and sold the business. I asked if they did nail trims and they did, I told them it took to people to trim my birds talons cause she is a biter. My daughter took my bird and I guess she told them the bird was aggressive. They are supposed to give the bird something such as a towel to bite on and lightly hold them around the neck area, I use to take her to the vet and watched how this procedure is done. Whomever held my bird , held her by the head, squeezing her face and jaw, to the point that they tore her delicate white skin on one side and had it bleeding and bruised her face on both sides. Sorry but this is not the way to handle a bird, they could have done permanent damage and I would have taken serious action had that been the case. There attitude was, this happens, it will be fine. They shouldn't have charged me but they did and I feel I'm do my money back after treatment of my bird. And I'm owed an explanation and an apology. I will never step foot in that place again nor will I recommend MVP. I honestly wish Melissa had investigated who she was selling her business to before she sold it. When she had it, The animals were in good shape, they were treated great, the fish tanks cleaned. Not now, I feel sorry for the animals they are selling, they don't act happy and they look lifeless. I'm sorry. They don't know how to take care of animals and should not be in business.

I visited this place several times over the last few years when I lived nearby. I went mostly for fish supplies, but I really tried to go elsewhere when I could. No fish I purchased from them lasted very long, despite me previously being able to keep fish for years. It seems they were prone to getting very sick very fast. The conditions of the other animals in the store were usually poor—overcrowded, small cages. The puppies’ conditions are very sad. I have no doubt some animals were sick. The staff were sometimes okay, but sometimes rude and immature. They were not gentle with the fish I bought. I won’t ever be back.

I took my granddaughter there over the weekend. There was a very young couple holding one of the young black kittens. As I was looking at the Siamese cat that was in the display… I watched that young girl with the kitten. For quite some time actually. She held it on its back and kept pushing her fingers in its mouth saying are you going to bite me….repeatedly. I told one of the men that was there and he indicated she’d already dropped it. My hopes were they’d move on. As I took my granddaughter through the store…I kept watching and noticed they adopted the kitten. I hope the kitten will be taken care of. But I’m skeptical.

They recently posted a video advertising bringing pets to birthday parties. in the video a bird from the store can be seen. This particular bird was upset one day in the store and the worker stated that it gets over stimulated-so you bring it to a kid's party? You also see a kid in the video violently hitting the ground several times next to a small puppy. Cue to the rabbit being miss handled by a child and jumping out of the child's arms to be chased. I know why my poor bunny died after a month now. Also, when I bought him the guy handed me a bag of pellets and said that's what he eats. A bunny's diet should be primarily hay. I have experience with bunnies and knew how to properly care for him. He was an angora rabbit, his hair was matted and they were using a bedding that got tangled in his fur. I'm just glad he got to live his last month in a happy environment.

Do NOT purchase a Purebred Cat or any cat or kitten from this Pet Shop. The kitten ended up Dying from FIP! Breeder was Donna Sousa. The Pet Shop offered NO refund! The breeder has a history of selling sick cats.

I have spent well into the four digits at this store. 2/3 of my small pet purchases were incorrectly sexed and now I am spending even more in vet bills. I have a prolific "female" Guinea pig that the staff even checked for pregnancy. That male impregnated my females, including one too old to breed. It's been an expensive week at the vet. I also bought a "DNA sexed male" parrot that caught the attention of our vet as being an obvious female and also exhibits characteristic female hormonal behaviors. Update: on the bright side, we have two newborn pups! On the negative side, I've spent several hundred dollars on vet bills with more to come. That's for the Guinea Pigs alone. The mistake with the parrot is looking to be much more expensive.

Ever curious what a store version of the sad animal commercials you see on TV would be like? Look no further. They don’t care about the animals - just the cash. Even their response to other complaints in Google are referencing someone’s bad experience. Want to fix my bad experience? Give the pets a comfortable place to sleep that’s not a metal grate in a small cage.Truly depressing how this place is in business when most animals look malnourished and sick. City and state should pull their license and shut them down. This is purely a cash grab for people who want an animal and don’t care about the condition from which the animal came.

My wife and I just visited the most adorable puppies here. (Looking for my mother in law). I can’t believe people leave such bogus reviews about puppy mills because that’s so far from the truth with how well they care for their animals. The reviews honestly made me not want to come but their staff is so helpful and friendly as well. Definitely leaving 5 starts and will return very soon when we find the right fit for the fam!!!! They also didn’t pressure or push us into anything which speaks volumes.

I know someone who used to work here who admitted they are supplied by puppy mills, which is not surprising since almost all pet stores who sell puppies are. This is why the sale of puppies through pet stores is being outlawed in more and more states. Find a responsible breeder for your puppy and do not give a dime to this store. They will lie lie lie but unless you can visit the breeder and see the parents and breeding conditions, do not buy that puppy. You're just fueling pet overpopulation and poor standards of breeding.
