First, this is an honest review about this company, not like others who were forced to provide positive reviews or had no guts to tell the truth. Upper management is full of liars since CEO and others are always hiding and faking information from the lab and secretly conducting evil decisions. Upper management is really poor and they were reluctant to resolve harassment issues within the lab for years. Lots of the equipment are more than 10 years old and outdated. Major testing instruments are not upgraded to meet the current industrial standard. All the money that are saved from the lab is used to pay for their near half million salary each. The whole lab was short staffed, with high working volume, and low morale. The lab setup was so poor and full of flaws. USEF provided and packed all blood tubes and urine cups for the vets to collect samples in the field. Empty tubes and cups were sent back from the vets with the samples collected. The empty tubes and cups were reused and sent to vets next time based on upper management's requirement. Samples received were all scanned to the computer in the drug room where all drugs were stored. All these improper conductions were informed to the CEO, however he thought these were fine and never tried to correct the potential contamination and conflict of interest issues. The working environment is also really poor, water leak everywhere, broken roof and ceiling, bugs, A/C not working, high humidity, septic smell, etc. There was even no working culture in the lab. USEF provides coffee, ice creams, candies, cooking stove, ice machine, vending machines, and lots of stuff for their employees at the horse park. However, nothing was provided to the lab at all. Lab employees hardly knew any other employees who worked at the horse park. CEO and others never showed up for several years until they lost the case and fired the lab director as scapegoat. CEO assigned someone else to be the interim lab director and meanwhile doing his own scientist job for almost 2 years who did really nice jobs, making the lab full staffed, ameliorating the working environment and culture, treating others fair and equal, improving the whole lab process and science, ensuring the validity of each report, etc. However, CEO and General Counsel broke promise and never paid the interim lab director any extra base salary for 2 years extra lab director job. Moreover, CEO secretly decided to sell the whole lab and informed the lab employees at least half a year later. During the transition, CEO never intended to solve the low morale issue and threatened to fire everyone in the lab immediately, kept lots of equipment purchasing on hold, and never rewarded the whole lab as they were deserved. Again, saving the money for himself. The new HR Director is also a CEO kisser and only did evil to the lab. The interim lab director followed the company policy and filed a whistleblower about no proper compensation, he got immediately suspended and later on his job was terminated. USEF paid him no compensation and no severance fee, totally no gratitude for his hard work and his support for the transition. University of Kentucky (UK), who bought the lab, was supposed to keep everyone in their own position after the transition. However, USEF and UK collaborated and screwed the interim lab director by cancelling his position and destroyed his career development. In this lab, good employees were always treated badly, full of harassment, bully, discrimination and retaliation.
