“I truly can’t put into words how amazing the team at Nicholasville Road Animal Hospital has been to me and my fur babies. My sweet girl, Pilot, was a patient here for ~8 years, and from the very beginning, the entire staff made us feel like we were part of the family. They loved her, spoiled her, and always made me feel like she was in the best hands.
I knew Pilot felt safe and comfortable every time she walked through their doors, and that meant the world to me. They also always made me feel understood and validated as the proud helicopter dog mom that I am! They cared not only for Pilot, but also for me through every appointment, concern, and difficult moment.

“We started going to VWC for underwater treadmill sessions to help my senior German Shepherd with his mobility. Several months later we had an abdominal ultrasound done as a preventative measure. Dr Johnson found an enlarged spleen and recommended a specialist visit. Fast forward a month and Dr Johnson performed a splenectomy on my dog. Surgery went smoothly and recovery was amazing. I highly recommend this clinic and all the doctors. The staff is top notch as well. We still go weekly for underwater treadmill sessions and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!”

“We first brought Ginger here in 2016, and over the years she went on quite an adventure with us. She traveled from Kentucky to Texas, up to Washington State, and eventually all the way back home to Kentucky. She visited Graceland in Tennessee, lived in San Antonio, went to Mt. Rainier in Washington State, watched the horses on Kentucky horse farms, and checked out plenty of “moo cows” in Washington.
She was our little traveling girl and was right there with us through so many chapters of our lives.
When we moved back to Kentucky, I’m so glad we chose to bring Ginger back here for her care.
When we knew we were getting close to having to make that incredibly difficult decision, Dr. Montgomery and the entire staff were amazing. Dr. Montgomery was gracious, compassionate, and helpful, and because of her care, we were given almost two additional weeks with Ginger before we had to say our final “see ya later.” Those two weeks meant more to us than I can put into words.
During those two weeks, they stayed in contact with me and checked on how Ginger was doing. When the day finally came, Dr. Montgomery and the staff treated both Ginger and me with so much kindness and respect. I never felt rushed. They gave me the time I needed with her and helped me through every step of an incredibly difficult process.
What touched me even more was that Dr. Montgomery was thinking about Holly Doodle, also—and Holly has never even been a patient there.
Holly had never been without Ginger. Ginger was her protector, her security blanket, and her constant companion, and we had no idea how Holly would handle losing her. Before I left, Dr. Montgomery made sure I went home with information on how to care for Holly and help her through the loss of Ginger. In the middle of everything happening that day, that level of thoughtfulness meant so much to me.
Every member of the staff we interacted with was helpful, caring, and compassionate. They have always taken wonderful care of Ginger, and the way they cared for all of us during her final weeks only reinforced how special this veterinary practice is.
After all the miles Ginger traveled and all the places she got to see, I’m grateful that her journey brought her back to Kentucky and to the people who had cared for her from the beginning.
Thank you, Dr. Montgomery and the entire staff, for taking such good care of our girl, for giving us those precious extra days with her, and for remembering that Ginger left behind a little best friend who would be grieving her, too. We will always be grateful. 🐾”

“Took a yearling AQHA for second opinion on an OCD. They were so welcoming from the first phone call down until we left. Dr.Blanton was more than willing to answer any questions and did a very thorough exam. They took new radiographs and allowed me to view and answered all my questions. My guy didn't need any intervention of any kind and they more than honest about everything.”

“Took my 13 yr old dog with severe joint pain in and they did an excellent job of diagnosing and providing detailed options for what we could do. They also gave me the various costs associated with the different options so there were no surprises. My girl is doing much better now and I really appreciate their help. Also, the location is extremely convenient and they have xray and surgical capabilities, it seems. I highly recommend this vet and his staff. They were excellent.”

“Junior Hunter Finals did not go as we had hoped for this year. Mirage arrived to Kentucky and settled in as usual. He schooled great all week.
He slept a lot on Thursday, which we attributed this to being tired and the heat of the day. But when he didn’t eat his dinner, we knew something was wrong. We immediately called Hagyard Veterinary, and they triaged Mirage. The decision was made to hospitalize Mirage, where he still is today. He has made steady progress each day, and now we see his personality and the light in his eyes again.
I wish to thank the dedicated team at Hagyard Veterinary Medical Institute. Dr. Hannah Weinberg came to our assistance immediately, and was kind enough to follow through when we arrived with Mirage at the clinic. Dr. Tiffany Hall set to the task to order Mirage the needed treatments and procedures. Dr. Nimet Browne diligently treated Mirage, and kept us updated with his changes and progress. And graciously let us visit Mirage.”
