What can you say about a place that is helping you change your life? I've known I needed to get in shape for years, but I kept pushing it off because I've tried weightlifting and doing cardio in a gym, but quickly got bored with the repetitive routine and lost all motivation. I also wanted a personal trainer, but I didn't want some drill sergeant-type musclehead barking orders at me. So when I finally decided to go for it, I began researching gyms and personal trainers around the area, but none felt quite right for me. Then I came across BAREFIT, which intrigued me with their non-traditional approach. After speaking with co-owner Rob at length, I felt this was what I was looking for and blindly made the leap, getting an all-inclusive 6-month package. Regret immediately hit me after hanging up with Rob and every negative thought I could think of ran through my head. He had set me up with Olivia for personal training, and I went into that first session expecting the worst. But what I got was far different. It was...fun! I actually had fun exercising! Within a week, BAREFIT had far exceeded all expectations I had by miles. 3 months in and I am down 25 lbs! Olivia has been amazing to work with. Whether it's during a training session or a group class, she has been pushing me to achieve greater and greater things, while at the same time being caring, encouraging and supportive. She's been awesome at working with me to modify exercises and movements that I'm not able to do just yet, while at the same time still keeping it challenging and fun. And that's the real kicker here, it's fun! Every training session and every class is different. They mix it up and have come up with seemingly no end to the different exercises they have for you to do. Best of all, it's not some sterile chain gym where you're stuck on a weight-lifting machine or a treadmill all the time - they incorporate free weights and reclaimed materials along with traditional and non-traditional exercises to keep it anything but predictive and boring. You never know what they're going to come up with next! And it's a full-body workout of arm, leg, cardio, and core. Yes, you're going to be challenged, but you will also have fun while doing it. And Rob has been amazing with his nutrition and lifestyle change mentoring/coaching sessions. These aren't some quick cash-grab sessions either, Rob checks in often and goes very in-depth, explaining everything thoroughly and making sure you aren't left with any questions. What shocks me the most about BAREFIT is that I don't feel like just another number or a nameless face to make money off of, I'm honestly treated like a friend - with respect and compassion. They really do care about their clients and it shows. If you need proof, you need to look no further than the co-op approach they're taking of not turning anyone away regardless of their ability to pay - in turn allowing you to trade volunteer work helping out the surrounding community for training. So if you're looking for a change from the gym lifestyle but still want the results, you've found it! With BAREFIT you're not just joining another gym - this truly is a community.

Would caution anyone to closely review all documentation prior to agreeing to any membership as it can be a very costly nightmare.I have had terrible experience with this company. My wife signed up for a membership after "winning" a promotion. This membership stated it had a "30 day risk-free" policy that turned out to be filled with risks and did not include refunds for charges. Have been attempting to cancel the membership for months at this point and BareFit continues to charge me weekly despite not obtaining any goods or services for several MONTHS. I emailed them repeatedly without response and when they finally did respond to tell me the official cancellation date, they CONTINUED to charge my card past this date and are now not responding to emails. Overall, a terrible experience with this company.

Great spot! Smaller class size so even when I wasn't seeing my personal trainer I received lots of 1 on 1 instruction to help me learn better form early on. Classes were challenging but the trainer knew how to modify a move if anyone needed more or less difficulty. I worked with Olivia as a personal trainer and enjoyed our sessions, she really listened to what I wanted to work on and crafted routines to do there and at home. Easy to work with, just make sure you are ready for the commitment!

If you are looking for a more exciting, interesting fitness experience, give Barefit a shot! I love the obstacle course style workouts. I really recommend Olivia for personal training - she's great at motivating me and making a workout feel fun!

Barefit is by far your normal “gym”. It’s rugged and put together, it makes you feel like you’re using what you got, and that’s basically what you’re getting to do. You’re learning to use parts of your body we have forgotten how to use, returning to basics. There isn’t any need for fancy equipment, and the fact that sides are like garage doors give you the feeling that you’re outside. My trainer was a very lovely individual- Olivia made me feel welcomed. Specially coming in as someone who’s never really had fitness goals, or abilities. She would kindly correct me on posture or how to properly lift and we would celebrate my small accomplishments. She is very knowledgeable and observant. If you’re tired of the ordinary 24/7 gym with its shiny purple equipment and wanna get outside and dirty, this is the place for you.

Had a very bad experience with this fitness group. I was selected as part of a promotion that I won from a drawing and ultimately was convinced to sign up after a meeting with the owner. After attending two of the classes I found this was not for me as I found the exercises not helpful for my fitness goals. I largely signed up because of the “risk-free” 30-day trial which turned out to mean there would be no refunds and an inability to cancel unless I went to several classes. Despite communicating my concerns to ownership, they refused to allow me to cancel so I am forced to pay weekly for two months in addition to the initiation/personal training fee. Very disappointed with how the owner handled this situation as I largely signed up because of the “promotion.” I would caution anyone who is planning to join to thoroughly review the contract prior to signing up as their “risk-free” period has SEVERAL risks.

Unless you plan on being a member at this gym for the rest of your life, I do not recommend it. It seems impossible to cancel a membership. When I found out that my fitness level was not up to the hour long classes, and I wasn't able to afford thepersonal trainer option, it took three weeks and multiple requests before I was sent a link for the opt out form. I filled out said form a month ago, and I am still waiting for my payments to stop. Anything positive I was willing to say about the trainer I briefly worked with is completely overshadowed by the unethical practices and lack of responsiveness of this organization.

An excellent gym that is "unconventional" in the best possible ways. The programming is unique, effective, and coached well. I would highly reccommend as an alternative to traditional fitness training.

Awesome place and space to train and I really look forward to training here! The staff are great with addressing issues/concerns, very understanding, and easy to deal with. More of a family environment rather than a gym...don't hesitate just do it!
