I called them to check on an insurance payment for a mutual customer. A live person answered the phone. This alone was an amazing experience for calling a financial institution. Nice to not have to waste 5 minutes of my life trying to get to a person.

I do not bank here, but broke down on the side of the road next to the bank. The employees did everything they could to try to help me by looking at my car, letting me wait inside for a tow, and offering me refreshments. They were a great relief in my time of need.

This is the absolute worse lender to deal with and I’ve dealt with several banks. You’re better off finding a different bank as it will take 3-4 months to close. They’ll try to lock you in with seemingly good rates but it’s not worth the headache and stress they’ll put you through along the way. There is no communication and they’ll even tell colleagues that you called, but won’t have time to call you back.And, if you wait out their 3-4 month approval process where you’re basically stuck in limbo and where no one returns your calls to update you, you’ll deplete your personal savings through the construction phase because Brandye takes 3 + weeks to approve your draws.Save yourself the stress and go through any other bank but this one.

AVOID this company for loans.Dealing with this company has been a horrible experience. Poor communication, vague direction, and slow processing. I am acting as my own contractor and now that I need money I can’t even access the funds. I am told that they only reimburse and not pay towards billed invoices. If I could pay for everything I would not have asked for a loan. AVOID.

I've been trying to get a loan approved for 2 months for overage on a construction loan and it can't seem to get anything done. I'm getting fed up. If I had the time I would switch banks and go elsewhere however i need the money asap. all I get is I'll call you this afternoon and guess what no phone call. try to get in touch with the president to get things going and all they tell me he's unavailable. guess I'm just going to have to come to Louisville and get some answers cause I'm past fed up

We got a small loan for some property back late last year, and I should have dealt with another company instead, because right off they seemed really rude and not caring if we done the deal or not, we never could get anyone to give us calls back even still to this day can't. They threatened us with an increase in our interest if we didn't set up auto pay, which I understand though it was never mentioned at first, so we sent in everything to get it set up, and THEY NEVER took it out! Causing our payments to be late. I called, and emailed and was told oh I'll get back to you by Eric Jarrard he's the one we've dealt with but never gets back to you. So finally just today I called customer care and the lady who was very nice told us she'd have it fixed that we had everything on our part, she didn't understand why he didn't have it fixed already. So hopefully I have my issue resolved, but I WILL NEVER deal with Rural 1st nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.

Very incompetent, disorganized, and unprofessional. Dreadful communication from each person we've been put in contact with. Contact made multiple times with multiple people and either no responses or inaccurate information given. Do not waste your time with this company. Dishonest (with holds information), unreliable, and untrustworthy.

This is the most difficult lender I have ever dealt with. Took four months to close the loan during which time interest climbed an additional half a percent and building materials cost increased. There is a lack of communication on their end. I strongly recommend others find a different lender to work with. Our dealings were with Rural 1st, a subsidiary of Farm Credit.

Recently built a house; construction loan process from start to end has been a terrible experience. I have been lied to multiple times. I definitely would not recommend anyone to initiate a home construction loan with this bank.

I have done multiple loans this year and was recommended to this company by a business associate. The follow up on their end was terrible and if you happen to get Kalya Clark I would suggest being switched to a different processor. I have been apologized to repeatedly for the simple act of not returning phone calls. I am still waiting for email questions to be answered by James Valinsky who was a loan officer. If I was not in a time crucnch I would switch banks because of who I have had to work with on this loan.
