shout out to Patrick for fitting my partner for shoes that are actually her size. turns out she's been wearing a size that is 1.5 sizes too small for roughly 37 years. she's new to shoes, it seems. things are looking up now! patrick is the guy for literally doing his job (fitting shoes) and handling our absurd questions with professionalism. her: "so should i get new shoes for work too?" (she's a bedside nurse). patrick: "i mean, the more you're on your feet, the more room you should have in your shoes. if you don't have any problems now, you will soon." incredible (and humbling) experience

Great place with great staff. My daughter has developed pronation and was in need of supportive shoes to help her ankles. The staff here were so helpful and made sure everything fit perfectly. I would 100% recommend this store to anyone.

Super helpful staff. My daughter went in looking for shoes and they instantly greeted her and helped her to find what she needed in 20 mins. Highly recommend if you are looking for your next pair of running kicks.

Working 12 hours shifts in a hospital does a number on your feet, legs, knees, and back. I stopped in here to get a pair of shoes that would make my shifts a bit less painful and was assisted by Jacob who:1. watched me walk to evaluate my gait2. listened to the issues I was having with my previous shoes and suggested alternatives to address those issues3. explained why my previous shoes weren't the best choice for my specific needs4. brought out 3 pairs of comfortable shoes for me to try on and answered all of my questions about them, and helped me find a very comfortable pair of shoes that were so great I wore them out of the store!Never did I think I'd need to go to a running store, but I am glad I chose this one and on top of that it was incredibly efficient. Don't always believe the hype about a certain shoe, go see these experts and they will help you find what works best for YOU! Highly recommend.

Today when I visited, Dianne helped me so much! She taught me all you can in about an hour of trying on shoes and it was really fun to learn about how shoes are made for different needs! I am really glad she was there to make sure I left with just the right pair that I felt great about.

I only stopped in to browse and try on shoes that I was looking to buy online. I don't generally buy from them because they act like I'm going to steal something whenever I go in there. But the sales person, also a person of hispanic heritage, treated me with respect and like I had money to spend - which I did. She worked hard to find me the right size so I ended up buying two pairs of Hokas. There was some other staff guy creeping around, pretending to work but the shoes fit, I liked them and her service was outstanding so I broke my rule and bought from them.Good job diversifying your staff Ken!

I needed something other than my Chucks to walk in and use for walking on treadmill. I wanted to shop local and found this store. I am not a runner but wanted something that would give me support. They measured my feet - left wider - and brought out a few pairs. One pair looked like the old Earth Shoes, I tried those but didn't fit quite right. Finally went with a lower sole (no Hoka's) so that the transition from Chucks to a real shoe wasn't too shocking on my body. I was told to try them out in the house and on my treadmill to see how my feet reacted to these shoes. If I wasn't happy I could bring them back as long as they haven't been worn outside. I was very happy with my overall experience. If I need another pair in the future I'll definitely return.

First time here and was a great experience. I am a nurse who works 12 hour shifts and needed something to wear so my feet wouldn't be so sore. Matt was the person who helped me and he was extremely nice and helpful. He mapped my feet with a thermal pad and recommended 3-4 shoes. I went with Hooka Bondi 8. I'll be back when I need new shoes for sure.

I highly recommend this store. I only recently got into running and the first time at the store I was a little intimidated and didn't know what I wanted. I explained that I was running in keen hiking shoes and the employee made me laugh by saying I was basically running in boots! He let me try on the shoes I purchased and let me test them in the parking lot. Who does that? I took the leap and bought 140 dollar shoes. I loved them so much I just went back and bought another pair. He gave me 10 percent off and was polite and helpful throughout the exchange. If you want to be treated right and get quality shoes while supporting local businesses, please visit this store!

I train at The Training Studio and Ken Combs was highly recommended by everyone. I’ve never been much of a runner and haven’t had anyone’s help buying shoes in a long time. I went in near close one day because it was the only time I could go, and the person helping me that day was someone I knew from TS. I told him I was interested in the running club and that my other shoes were hurting my feet. He took measurements, looked at the structure of my feet, and then brought out multiple pairs he thought would be a good fit. I tried them all and settled on the Brooks Adrenaline ones. They had my size, but only in a brighter color, so they took a special order for more neutral ones and let me know asap when they were in. No one was other bothered or rushy about me being in the store that late which I appreciate. I try not to be “that” person, but I was and they certainly didn’t make me feel like it. I was able to pick up my shoes when I had the time to get back to the store and they were again very friendly. I know there’s a bunch of good small shoe stores in Louisville, but I’ll definitely be coming back here for shoes and other athletic needs. Makes me feel good to support local and get treated well rather than taking a shot in the dark at a big chain retailer or ordering online. Thanks!
