This place is right around the corner from my office, so I've come here a lot. The food is always good. During lunch, it gets very busy, but the staff is fast and efficient, moving people in and out steadily. I usually come in between 11:30 and noon and sit right down at the bar. After 12:00, it looks like there is a bit of a wait.
Last time I was there, I got the steak ranchero (ribeye,) and it was perfectly done. The meat was rich with a flavorful marinade.
Mi Cocina is in my top five places to eat downtown during my lunch break.

Pretty nice little mexican place. It wasn't crowded (granted it was a monday), but regardless the food was very nicely plates and had some pretty great flavors in the sauces going on.

Tried the Diablo Wings, the sauce was good and the wings were big and meaty, but they were not crispy, and that was a little sad.
My Pollo En Mole Salsa was bizarre - never in my life have I seen a mole sauce that wasnt a super tdark brown/almost black and this was like a maroon red? And it tasted like someone melted a Hershey bar and mixed it with ketchup. A rather unpleasant mole indeed. Also sad because the chicken itself was excellently prepared and the rice and beans were tasty.
The chips and salsa were delicious, as well as the drink I had ordered, so maybe if I was meeting someone or waiting for a show to start at The Palace it would be nice to come here and sit at the bar and have some chips and a drink, but I would not attempt dinner here again. Not worth the price.

Been here a few times when visiting. Usually the servers are nice but today not so much. Maybe because we didn't order food because we were just in the mood for a margarita. Their frozen margaritas are good. We didn't even get chips and salsa, which I figured everyone gets there. I remember their shrimp quesadilla being good though from other visits so check that one out.

My wife and I had heard great things about this restaurant on Fourth Street in The Ville, so she made a reservation for us before the Acoustic Jam 2017 at The Palace. I am very impressed. The restaurant was very bright, festive and extremely clean. Our server Enrique was very funny, very nice and very attentive. We started with chips and salsa and beers. I am a salsa junkie-this salsa was top notch-full of cilantro and flavor! We asked what he would recommend as we had not been there before. He recommended the Cochinita Pibil and the Chimichanga. He said the Pibil was a Mayan pork that was cooked for 12 hours. He also said they offered the Chimichanga fried or soft/burrito style. My wife ordered the Pibil (served with rice, black beans and plantains); I ordered the Seafood Chimichanga burrito style (served with rice, refried beans and salad). The food was amazing. We both sampled each other's entrees, and I am so glad we did. The Pibil was delicious, tender and packed with Mayan spices. My Chimichanga was loaded with scallops, shrimp and crab smothered in cheese and enchilada sauce.
Both dishes were large, so plan on taking some home! Excellent food, excellent prices and excellent service. I highly recommend this new find!!! I'll be back!
