This is a horrible place to work . The staff treat the kids like dogs, to the point it broke my heart . Also I believe the staff are on drugs especially the supervisor on third shift Mr. Lee a well known crack addict . Stay far away from this place not good at all .

Lived there and was there when the April 3rd,1974 tornado hit. Served mass with Father Weiker. I was on the basketball team and we were undefeated and won the championship. It doesn't look the same. The memories of helping the adults setting up and taking down the booths for the picnic. Loved helping Ms. Russoe cook in the kitchen. We'd visit family on the weekends. Saturday mornings waiting to hear our names called on the intercom while watching cartoons in our dormitory; and come back on Sunday evening. We always called it 'The Home'.Christmas time was awesome; the entire place was like Christmas land. Always thought about writing a book about my experiences there.Miss. Louise, Sister Annette, Sister Loretta,Sister Rita,Sister Alodia,Sister Nunello. The school bus.St. Joseph Orphanage is what it used to be called.

The annual picnic fundraiser was quite crowded and parking was frustrating. Even the back field poses challenges in walking once you earn a parking spot!

I went to the annual picnic fundraiser and it is a fun day. An area for the kids to enjoy activities just for them. Plenty of food trucks and beverages both alcohol and not. It is a fun day to bet on wheel games and bingo and later on Saturday evening they have Black Jack tables. Great fun for a great organization. Look forward to it every year.

I think its sad that this place has bad reviews. And these reviews are based on peoples opinions about the overpricing and "pathetic beer". In my gracious opinion, it is a home for children and whatever prices they choose are for the possible reason of raising money for the home. So, anytime someone feels the need to put a 1 star review, lets think before we speak. You sound spoiled. Anywho, i had a wonderful time there and i'm so excited for the picnics ?

Had the pleasure of touring the home and playing benefits for them. Great history and proud to have helped out for such a worthy cause for children of Louisville.
