Over priced and very outdated no microwave in rooms. The Starbucks sucks not even a real Starbucks. Security guy asked me for my number. Jockey was probably the only nice part of this hotel.

Great location and we had a nice view of the river. Aside from those things, this hotel was one of my least favorite stays in recent memory. The bed came with two scratchy stiff sheets and no top blanket. When we called the front desk to ask for a warmer blanket, we received a slightly thicker sheet (we ended up driving to target to purchase a blanket). Another big issue was that there was bright light both coming in from under the door to the hallway and also from the internet router mounted to the ceiling. This made it difficult to sleep at night. We also didn’t receive any soap or lotion for the first two nights despite calling to request it and apparently having room service come by while we were gone. The third night we got a bar of hand soap instead of getting our body wash refilled in the shower. The lobby reeks of cigarettes and we never received an emailed copy of our receipt as promised.I’d recommend staying away unless here for an event.Rooms: Abysmally uncomfortable bedding and lack of toiletry replenishment during our stay

place is a mess and in need of a good spring cleaning. Go up the elevators and look out of the glass; dirty glass and there is dir and debris all over the passageways and concrete inside the hotel, inside not outside.

The room was spacious, but was badly in need of updating, particularly the bathroom. The "vanity" was tiny. The bathtub shower was extremely cramped. A ballet dancer would have had difficulty lifting her leg high enough to get into the tub. The drain was slow, so if your shower lasts more than 30 seconds, you'll be standing in several inches of water. The bed was uncomfortable. I had to call the front desk a number of times for towels and other supplies. The desk clerks were extremely responsive and helpful. All requested items arrived quickly. The housekeeping staff were very nice and tried to be helpful. But most of them didn't speak English. Fortunately, my broken spanish enabled us to communicate to some degree. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. We loved the atrium. The location of the hotel couldn't be more perfect with its view of the river and closeness to many restaurants and attractions. The good outweighs the bad at the Galt House. I've stayed there many times and seen it through changes over the years. I'd stay there again.Rooms: Not the best, from my experience.Walkability: Within walking distance of attractions, restaurants and shopping.Food & drinks: There are a number of restaurants in the building. The food we tried was good. The service at the hotel restaurants was friendly, attentive and generally quick.

Great location, simple room with everything we needed. We liked the history of the hotel. The staff were helpful. Busy place for school groups. We could hear the group in the next room, not super quiet. Room was comfortable.

How misleading!!! All pictures featured on their website and their advertising talk about being on the River with views. Here is our room which the front desk assured us had river views. A River of parking garage concrete! I called them but they claimed they were unable to help. Checking out today after one night! Hearing of the historical significance etc of the hotel we were hoping for a longer stay as we discovered nearby popular spots. So disappointing!!

This hotel has a great space and location with the only issue being that, for the price, the service and upkeep details are really lacking. The West Tower rooms are spacious with updated furniture but very few outlets. When you first get into the room, there's a light switch near the door that turns on an extremely dim decorative light. Getting in at night, we had to use our phone flashlights to find our way to the dresser for real light. The desk light is at an awkward angle and looks adjustable but isn't. They have a few USB ports near the outlets, but there were two of us in a room that could sleep four and we used every available outlet easily. The bathroom has a dual sink but they only give you one bar of soap, so you end up passing it back and forth. Most hotels at this level would give you two by default, even if only to allow bar soap for showers as an option. Requesting an extra was never fulfilled. The shower water pressure is gentle, and there are pump bottles mounted to the wall, which is fine but a friend in another room had an empty bottle that never got refilled during a weeklong visit, despite request. The toilet paper is literally see through. The sheets were well maintained but were also so crisp they were noisy as you move in them. Hallway noise is also an issue if you end up on a busy floor or night. Coffee cups and setups were not consistently refilled during service. It really just feels like they're cutting corners on little amenities and the housekeeping is being rushed or not empowered to help on requests. It doesn't fully live up to its price point as a result. But the convention space is great, and you get lovely views.Rooms: Rooms in the West Tower are spacious but only two accessible outlets (1 plug at dresser and 1 at desk, each with a USB port, but the port on the desk gets blocked off you use the plug). In a two queen room, each bed gets three pillows and a light coverlet (no comforter or duvet). Beds are comfortable and pillows are fluffy firm. Two sinks and a tub/shower combo with gentle pressure in the bathroom (no handheld). Very little lighting in the room but great views, especially from upper floors.Walkability: There are a lot of restaurants and within a half mile walk, more within a mile. No nearby groceries but there's a drug store within a mile. The riverfront is easily accessed for short scenic walks. Be aware coming in and out of the hotel involves a gentle incline and parked scooters in Louisville can sometimes impair wheelchair paths. Also, Louisville has a lot of stone walkways with rough surfaces and occasional missing stones.

Its a nice location for an older hotel. Lots of things to do around the hotel's downtown area. The only issues, it the elevators on the west side can be a choke point as you can wait a while as the four elevators services the whole tower. The breakfast is expensive at $22 per person for nothing much, and parking is very expensive even if you are a guest.

Don't eat at any resteraunt at the hotel. The food is not good. It's expensive, which was to be expected. Close to Jeff Ruby's is a plus. The Omni in downtown Louisville is much better. The food in the building really takes this hotel down to 1 star for me.
