Dr. Sam Vaughn has been our veterinarian for well over 20 years. He takes excellent care of our pets. I can’t imagine going to another vet.

If I could give this vet a negative review I would! The ladies and gentlemen at the desk were very professional. The vet Vaughn however lacked professional etiquette. He barged into the room completely unannounced with out any greeting, and was so old he could barely hold himself up. I took my small bird ‘green cheek conure’ and he was so rough with him. He cut his nails and didn’t even realize he was bleeding until I mentioned It. My bird went into shock and distress from the vets roughness and the vet didn’t even recognize it. When I mentioned that something was wrong and my bird wasn’t acting normal and seemed very sleepy and was so weak he couldn’t even scream anymore. Vet Vaughn brushed it off and said my bird was just exhausted from fighting him off. My bird was healthy and talking before the vet started roughly handling him. My poor bird didn’t make it home alive. DO NOT TAKE YOUR SMALL PET TO THIS VET!!!

The receptionist were very nice ladies. The vet himself though, absolutely unprofessional. “Vet Von” if you even want to call him a vet, was a complete unprofessional pathetic excuse for a vet. First off, he came in and didn’t even introduce himself at all, second he decided to be very rude towards me when I was asking questions about my pet. He then proceeded to inject my pet with “medicine” even though he never specified what type of medicine it was or why he was doing it and when I asked him if that’s what would help her his simple response was “well that’s why you’re here ain’t it” disgusting! Very unprofessional, will never be taking my pets back ever and I hope that all of you can read this before you decide on this vet because I’m telling you now. PICK. SOMEWHERE. ELSE.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don’t bother taking your pet here. Rude and snarky know-it-all receptionist. Oh, and they don’t keep any of your pet’s records on hand. Was just told they can’t find my dog’s x-ray records and it'll be next week until I get them. EXTREMELY unprofessional. Don’t recommend in any way shape or form.

Dr.Sam and the entire staff are simply awesome. He showed us a neat trick to catch our budgies to give them their meds. Luca has grown his flight feathers back and he can be a pill if he gets loose but, Get your bird in a small space so if he flys you can turn off the lights after he lights on something. They won't see you coming ! Isn't that cool ? Birds are cool and so is Veterinary Associates.

The receptionist was very nice and professional. The vet, Dr. Vaughn, is a very odd person with severe difficulty communicating with others. I don't wish to talk negatively about him, I believe he was as pleasant and helpful as he was capable of being. He came into the room chomping on his gum and kept calling the bunny a him when I told him it was a female bunny. That's forgivable. He looked over our bunny for a minute or more without saying a word, I believe I had to be the one to start the conversation. He told me she'd have a 30% chance of survival if he tried to fix the wound, and it would be around $300. I called my wife and he talked to her. She found him extremely awkward and off-putting. He would only answer in one or two words, no sentences or phrases. He did say "sorry" as in giving his condolences for our bunny, which I appreciate. LIke I said, I think he was as compassionate as he is capable of being. But yeah, he has severe deficiencies when it comes to communicating, that doesn't make him a bad person, but this is a business I'm reviewing, so I'd highly recommend avoiding this place. The cost was about what I would expect, but I'd pay more to go somewhere else.

The vet is extremely awkward and off-putting. He was chewing very loudly on gum or something. He only answered in one or two words, and he had very little empathy. The receptionist was actually very good.

A friend of mine recommended “Stonefield Animal Hospital”on Moser Road, for grooming. I was excited because it’s in walking distance from me. After two cancellations from the groomer, I received a call from the tech telling me the groomer was sick and I rescheduled for the following Monday. I did tell her to make sure she notes on the groomers card that at this point my dog would need to be shaved all the way down because she is pretty matted.I received a call from the male tech today telling me (not asking a potential customer) they would not be able to work with me because the techs told him I cussed them out. First off that is not my nature… And that is totally a lie from the techs. They are very unprofessional, and he told me he would take his techs Word over mine even after I asked if we could all meet and get this straight. He refused. Again, he did not call to ask me if something happened.I’m sure this was a blessing in disguise. The groomer may be very good, but I never got to that point. I would not want to expose my pet to a place that flat out lies, and did not care to resolve it.I

We love Dr Vaughn and his staff. Every single person at Vet Associates Stonefield cares so deeply about animals. I have recommended the office to family and friends alike. I’m also glad to see that a groomer has been brought on at the office! I can’t wait to bring Wolfy back in for her blueberry facial!

Dr Vaughn is a wonderful vet, particularly with birds. He has been seeing mine for more than a decade. His knowledge always amazes me and he has saved two of my birds from certain death when they got sick, including my current one whom has lived 12 years more after her treatment. He is also very kind and though can seem right to the point, he cares so much about his patients and their owners. One of the best vets I have ever had in owning birds for over 25 years. My last vet was Dr Susan Kelleher when she was in veterinary school and she recommended Dr vaughn when I moved from FL to KY. Best recommendation, ever!

Dr Vaughn is probably the most knowledgeable avian vet I have had the pleasure to meet. Bobbie is a salmon creasted cockatoo that we rescued and needed attention. Dr. Vaughn was very thorough and Bobbie is an incredibly happy bird now. Thanks again Dr. Vaughn and crew.
